CG just played a new Cat Stevens tune. Quite nice.
-
BTW, CG is celebrating Dame Elton John's 60th B-day by playing him once an hour. "Part Time Love" sounds good right now.
-
a real CG treat: Dolly Parton, "Jolene".
followed by -- oh by cracky -- Neil Sedacky. "Oh Carol, I am but a queen."
-
the requests on CG have been exceptional today, so far. FYC, "Johnny Come Home". Almost makes up for the lack of KPOO (which still pisses me off: I can get KPOO on my home computer, but not at work; I can get CG at work but not at home. WTF?)
-
OMG! Marmalade's cover of "O-Bla-Di, O-Bla-Da".
-
Motors, "Airport", one Dave should play in a '78 set someday.
Followed -- OMGWTFLOL -- by Mott the Hoople, "Roll Away the Stone"!!
-
Tuned in WLNG earlier than I usually do, and turns out Tuesday is Bob Shannon's "Behind the Hits" day. He's playing a megamix of Greg Kihn's "Jeopardy" and Weird Al's "(I Lost on) Jeopardy", with a cameo appearance by Don Pardo! "You're a LOOOOSER!!"
All of this was in honor of the 3-way-tie on Jeopardy. And because the winning question involved Bonnie & Clyde, we get Georgie Fame's "Ballad of B&C"!
-
OMG! Bob Shannon just played a snippet of Divine's disco cover of "Walk Like a Man". LOL!
-
WLNG Nugget o' the day: "Delilah". Tom Jones -- the Original Gangsta!
-
Nugget #2: Ms King's lovely "Sweet Seasons", speaking as we were of songs Dave has never played by artists he underrepresents.
-
CG plays Imagination's "Just an Illusion", as fabulous a lost '80s soul nugget as I could, er, imagine.
-
and now it's Stephen Colbert's favorite '70s relic, Barry Manilow, "Copacabana". Have a banana!
-
WLNG Nugget o'the Day: Kyu Sakamoto, "Sukiyaki" Everybody sing along!

Nugget #2: "Harper Valley PTA". Yee-haw!
-
On CG: Marmalade with a country-ish '70s UK hit called "Cousin Norman".
-
CGSS plays Richie Havens, zippin' up his boots (leather, no doubt) and goin' back to his roots. A great cover of Lamont Dozier (later done by Odyysey). Preach it, Sistah Havens!
