BOS2 Paul Simon, "Further to Fly" -- one from Rhythm of the Saints you rarely hear (indeed, there are maybe 2 tracks from this album that get any airplay at all).

I'd venture a BOS for this Notting Hillbillies tune--at tht time it came out Knopfler had been on hiatus for awhile, iirc, and it was nice to hear him being himself, not bitching about "how you do it on your MTV." Oh, and Proxy of Alicat here too. She does love her Knopfler.

Btw, can I just say that the Subdudes must be the Boulder equivalent of the Dead here or Springsteen in NY (in terms of regional popularity, that is). Except I NEVER hear them anywhere but BCO, but I don't think Ginger's passed an opportunity to play them in a late 80s or early 90s set as long as we've been listening.

Oh jeez. While we're on the subject of "songs we've never heard on the radio" Ginger enters the competition with the 'Mats When It Began. What's this on--All Shook Down? Don't Tell a Soul?

Indeed, she mentioned they were living in CO at the time and were considered a "Colorado band" despite their N'awlins roots.

WOS Robert Cray -- "forecast calls for pain" strikes me as a lame sub-Nashville-song-factory attempt at clever wordplay.

The answer to the trivia question, I think, is Chet Atkins (with whom did Knopfler release an album in '90 that was called Neck to Neck?).
