Title: The Peak, 3/7/07: 1972!
Post by: RGMike on March 07, 2007, 07:33:11 AM
Damn, missed Mott's "Honaloochie Boogie" and Macca's "Hi Hi Hi" AND Aztec 2-Step's "...Dean Moriarty". But here's Mr Withers to lean on.

BOS Bea Arthur in her first appearance as Maude on All in the Family
OMFG! Yes' cover of S&G's "America"!!! BOS2 and quite a flashback.

This set needs to be heard on the replay, folks!

and now Joni, BOS3, from Breakfast Barney to the sign-off prayer.  This may be the best 1972 set anyone has done in months.

Wow.

Jerry Garcia - Sugaree
Paul Simon - Mother And Child Reunion
Aztec Two-Step - Persecution and Restoration of Dean Moriarty (On the Road)
Wings - Hi Hi Hi
Jimmy Cliff - The Harder They Come
Mott the Hoople - Honaloochie Boogie
Bill Withers - Lean on Me
Yes - America
Joni Mitchell - You Turn Me On I'm A Radio
David Bowie - Quicksand

And again I say: wow.

What kind of keyboard is that blaring over "America"?  It's the one that shows up on so may early Styx records; to my ears the quintessential cheeseboard.
