Title: The Peak, 02/27/07: It's 1990

A rather dull set is enlivened by Soho's Smiths-sampling "Hippychick," which I haven't heard in years, drinking coffee in an insolent mood.

PS: Is it just me or do all Smithereens songs sound pretty much alike?

Ditto on "Hippychick", the one non-Moreyesque track in this set so far. And you're dead-on about the Smithereens -- I like them, their songs (individually) sound great on the radio, but when I saw them live in '89 or '90 I suddenly realized how similar the tunes really were. Guess that's just the way it is, baby.

Was "That Is Why" a single?  To me it's one of the lesser tracks off Bellybutton, so I'm always surprised to hear it on 10@10.  "Baby's Coming Back" is a far better alternative to "The King Is Half-Undressed."

Guess Gaz bailed before Jellyfish's "That is Why" -- if so, proxy BOS.
