I was "oot 'n' aboot" today, luckily I brought my Walkman and heard both 10@10 and a good 2 hours worth of Judge's show -- he had a SERIOUS Gloria Gaynor jones goin' on -- tracking sides of LPs. "Never Can Say Goodbye/Reach Out" and "Casanova Brown/Do it Yourself/How High The Moon"... I seriously thought she might've died!

The latest on VIP Radio: Sadly, the website is down, the link takes you to the web-design company that did the VIP site. But another UK radio news site
http://www.radiotoday.co.uk/news.php?extend.1645.8
says they've been off-the-air due to "serious illness" -- apprently Kev Roberts, the lead voice and Program Director, is not well. And then an Update says they'll be "back soon"; so then why pull the website down? Odd.

It's a KOMY kinda day. Friends of D are Grazin'; S&G are Fakin'.
-
'erman's 'ermits. "No Milk Today"
"the bottle stands forlorn
a symbol of the dawn"
Another great Graham Gouldman lyric.
-
TANC: Bob mentioned this morning, when he played "Pleasant Valley Sunday", that the B-side was "Words" -- and here it is on KOMY.
-
rare 10cc on CG: "Donna" (not the Richie Valens tune), their first hit single, a #2 from late '72 that I don't think I've ever heard -- sort of a '50s parody and (Gaz will be shocked to hear me say) pretty lame and inconsequential. I always assumed "Rubber Bullets" was their first as 10cc (they were called Hot Legs in 1970).
-
oh by cracky, it's Neil Sedacky: "Oh Carol, you are but a fool if you think Neil is straight."
-
highlight of the day: Soft Cell, "Say Hello, Wave Goodbye".
-
"Philadelphia freedom took me knee-high to a man"
Hrm... I'm guessing Elton's been knee-high to quite a few men over the years...
-
WLNG is awash in OMGWTF nuggets today: Bobby Sherman, "Julie Do Ya Love Me?" and Kenny Nolan, "I Wike Dweamin'".
-
"Philadelphia freedom took me knee-high to a man"
Hrm... I'm guessing Elton's been knee-high to quite a few men over the years...
Is that what the line means? I've assumed so for years but I've also been accused of my share of willful misreads.

no I don't think it means *that*. I was making a funny.
Meanwhile on 'LNG... "I'm not talkin' 'bout the linen": ED&JFC, "I Really Mondegreen Ya Tonight".

WLNG is awash in OMGWTF nuggets today
and here's another: Gary Puckett & the UG: "This Girl Is a Woman Now".
-
Yikes -- "The Unicorn"! And it isn't even St Patrick's Day!
-
KCDX morning gem: Roxy, "Virginia Plain".
-
Hark! Listen! here they come... Moodies, "Eternity Road".
-
Driving around listening to Bonnie Simmons' show on KPFA earlier tonite, and she played Love's "You Set The Scene", a fabulous track from Forever Changes that I hadn't heard in eons.
-
CGSS: Prince still lookin' for his purple banana. Funny, I think I saw his banana quite clearly at the Super Bowl...
