wow, VHM this VERY rarely-haerd Doobs tune, "Dark-Eyed Cajun Woman". This may be the first time I've ever heard this on the radio.

Pretty sure Ginger played it a year or so ago & I said the same thing then.

Now here's Bruce with the original, less mondegreen prone lyric:

cut loose like a deuce v. wrapped up like a deuce

"we're 2 minutes away from a man who once was Jesus... on stage in Godspell".  Ginger doing her best Casey Kasem-esque tease for David Essex.  "Rock On" indeed.

Marley 'didn't shot the deputy' though, whereas as Clapton 'didn't shoot the deputy'...talking about covers that tweak the lyrics slightly.

Never paid attention to the fact that the Iggles tune was a cover until now.

Eric pretending to be a black Jamaican man would been borderline racist, no?

BOS6 Tatum & Ryan O'Neal in Paper Moon; BOS7 Eagles, one of the songs on Desperado they didn't write, "Outlaw Man" (written by one David Blue, iirc).

Best '73 set in some time. Kudos Ginger!

Their version paid Tom Waits' rent for about five years--it was the B-side of Best of My Love, which sold like 5 zillion copies.

BOS2 (after Waits), the selfsame Iggles, Outlaw Man, from their superlative Desperado album.
