KCDX's "just played" feature mis-identifies Michael Penn's "No Myth" as "Someone To Dance With". LOL!
Our "connectivity issues" continue to make buffering a pain -- and I can't even get the VIP homepage to load. KPOO's stream was virtually impossible when I listened earlier -- I was expecting that, so I brought my FM Walkman so's I can listen to Judge later.
-
It ain't nuthin' but a J Geils houseparty, y'all!
-
George's "Apple Scruffs" sounding so nice today.
-
OMFG! Brewer & Shipley, "50 States of Freedom" -- haven't heard this since the '70s, probably. My last 'CDX tune before switching to Judge, and what a fine way to go out.
-
Judge appears to be on a disco roll -- Gloria Gaynor, Esther Phillips -- but the buffering is horrendous. And my FM Walkman is worse -- no reception in this building. I'm majorly pissed.
-
back to 'CDX: new to me, City Boy "The Hap-ki-do Kid" -- no idea which LP this is from, but it sounds like they got tired of channeling Queen & ELO and tried ripping off "Mr Roboto".
and speaking of Styx -- cheeze for lunch! "Fooling Yourself".
-
OMG! King Crimson, "21st Century Schizoid Man"!! This made my day, haven't heard this in decades.
BTW, "Court of the Crimson King" is used to great effect in Children of Men, a tremendous film and a must-see.
-
wow, Gerry Rafferty, title track from City to City, on ya never hear...
-
switched to 'CDX in time for "San Franciscan Nights".
-
April Wine, "Roller".
I just discovered the other day that their 1972 hit "You Could've Been a Lady" was a cover of a Hot Chocolate song -- more than a year before Stories covered HC's "Brother Louie".
-
OMGWTF! Billy Joel's very-little-heard "Streetlife Serenader"
-
OMGWTF-of-the-Day: 'CDX plays Grand Funk Railroad's utterly worthless cover of "Gimme Shelter". Even worse than BS&T's "Sympathy For the Devil".
-
happy to say our internet (and streaming) is finally much improved. So I'm back to VIP, and here's the Supremes' cover of "Stormy". John Legend, eat yer heart out.
-
More Supes" "Take Me Where You Go", new to me, and you gotta love a lyric that rhymes "Leather" with "Together".
-
OMG, Sandie Shaw doing her best Dusty S. imitation on "Girl Don't Come".
-
"I don't want no part
Of your Love Factory
I ain't no machine
I'm a human being"
Eloise Laws, a new one on me.
-
ooo! Tammi Terrell doing a very Supes/Vandellas-like cover of "This Old Heart of Mine".
-
OMGWTFLOL! Reparata & the Delrons, "Captain of Your Ship".
-
Chuck Wood's orig version of "7 Days is too Long", later covered by Dexy's Midnight Runners.
-

More JB on CGSS! "Payback" is a bitch! He don't know karate, but he knows ka-razy!
-
Who needs "Soul Patrol" when CGSS is playing the 4 Tops fab cover of "Walk Away Renee"?
ETA: ditto the Isley's even fabber "Behind a Painted Smile".

A very nice interview, his memories of Woodstock, and closing with his lovely cover (new to me) of the song "Woodstock".
