Motown Monday on KHUM. Hopefully now that the election is over, not too many public service interruptions!

I may have to drift over there, as The Drive is doing 1983.
-
The KPOO Blues Lady is doing a salute to Ruth Brown. "Lucky Lips"!
-
KPOO's Judge is slammin' as usual: Three Degrees, "Year of Decision", followed by the non-Smokey Miracles' "Do It Baby". Can't nobody groove me, can't nobody move me like Judge do!
-
Chaka brays on "You Got The Love".
Heads-up: Judge is doing an hour of Rick James and Teena Marie at 3:00.
-
Blue Magic, "Life is a 3-Ring Circus", a sideshow of another kind.
-
ooo! Ecstasy Passion & Pain, early disco classic, "Good Things Don't last Forever".
followed by disco 4 Tops, "Just Can't Get You Outta My Mind".
-
Hoo Lawd! early EWF, "Mighty Mighty".
-
Gladys feels a song in her heart again. "He makes me feel just like a WOO-man!"
ETA: more Gladys -- a twin-spin, her version of "Best Thing That Ever Happened", and (new to me) the Persuaders version, released the same month, which lost the cover battle with Gladys & her Pips.
-
Billy Paul, "Thanks for Savin' My Life", haven't heard this since it was a hit.
Leading up to the 3:00 Rick James/Teena Marie Power Hour!
-
VIP Tuesday, starting with the Chairmen, "Dangling on a String", one of my fave songs of that early-'70s period that I didn't catch up with until decades later.
-
VIP plays the Jerry Butler version of "Brand New Me" (the original?). Pretty fab.
-
VIP's Tuesday Night '70s kicks off with the Fabulous Sylvester, makin' me feel mighty real.
-
a 4 Seasons rarity, "The Night", later covered by Soft Cell.
Followed by one of my fave forgotten O'Jays songs, "Time To Get Down".
-
CG is airing a Motown docu and they just played a clever montage of pieces of "My Guy" cover versions by the likes of Petula Clark, Atretha, and Sister Sledge. Nicely done.

The first time I heard that song I was *certain* it was Diana Ross. Whoops!
