I surely have not heard this since '86 -- when Max Headroom lasted, what, 5 or 6 episodes on ABC?

I didn't know the artist, but that perfectly captured the zeitgeist of the year to my ears.
Ginger Trivia: Max Headroom was played by Matt Frewer, but I don't know who the "mastermind" behind him was.

I was still living in Tacoma in '86 and there was a great station (I'm sure I've mentioned it before) called KEZX, which played light rock, smooth jazz, etc. but with real flair. They'd mix in stuff that sounded good even if the artist was from far outside the genre, such as the Stones ("Heart of Stone" or "Lady Jane"), some Tull (and not just "Bouree"), some ELP (like "Still...You Turn Me On"), plus they played a ton of local acts. And up that close to Canada Bruce Cockburn was a big favorite.

Or even better, a day to take off and listen at home at full volume!
