I'm listening but won't have much if anything to contribute as I know not much of anything 80's.

Beastie Boys? Petty? Georgia Sattelites?

What was the name of the fiddle player JCM was featuring at this time?  Lisa something-italian-sounding?  She was hot!

all three had hits that year.  I wouldn't count on Ginger playing the Beasties but TP abd GS are distinct possibilities.

BOS Billy Crystal in one of the great cameos in cinematic history.  And when Carol Kane comes screaming around the corner, "Liar!!! Liar!!!" that's one of the all-time great entrances for a character in cinematic history.

I think Hourglass sounds okay in this set.  More than the Winwood does if you ask me.

The Winwood is one of those eligible-in-2-years tunes, and indeed I tend to associate it with '86.

Okay, how about this:  from what countries do each of the kindappers, Vizini (Wallace Shawn), Fezzik (Andre the Giant) & Inugo Montoya (Mandy Patinkin) hail?

It's been 19 years since I saw Princess Bride -- you, on the other hand, having kids ... have probably seen it a dozen times.  So I'm stumped.

and I might add that in a year when the Georgia Satellites had a massive hit, it was doubly sad that this LP was ignored by rock radio.

Best '87 set in quite a while, no?

I had it mostly memorized before I had kids.  But yeah, now I own a copy.

From the dialogue:

Vizzini berating Fezzik - "Do you want me to take you back where I found you?  Unemployed!?  In GREENLAND!?!?"

Later, Inugo to Westly - "I could give you my word as a Spaniard?"  "No good.  I've known to many Spaniards."

Vizzini to Westly - "You fell victim to one of the classic blunders! The most famous is never get involved in a land war in Asia, but only slightly less well-known is this: never go in against a Sicilian...when DEATH is on the line!  Ha Ha Ha!!!....[and then he falls dead]

Very true.  Big thanks to Ginger for a decent latter year set on a Friday.

Think Dave might take us back to the 60's?  It's been three weeks...
