That song was playing just as I got to reading a pissy email from my boss, and even if it had to be Phil's voice, it was good to hear the words "you're taking it all too hard" just at that moment. And now Deborra Iyall is telling me that this is all "a temporary thing".

just reading a bit of the Romeo Void biography, first off, Iyall claims that this song is an answer to MJ's "Billie Jean".
Second, talk about lucky breaks: apparently a Cars roadie played their first indie album, from fabled 415 Records, on the Cars tour bus, & Ric Ocasek liked it so much he invited them to come to his Synchro Sound studio in Boston. The resulting Ocasek-produced EP, Never Say Never, on the back of the enormous dance club and college radio airplay of the single, led directly to 415 Records' ongoing association with Columbia Records (bringing not only Romeo Void but also Red Rockers, Translator, Wire Train, and others to major-label status).
Third, which I didn't know until today, Iyall is a Native American from the Cowlitz tribe, born in rural Washington and raised in Fresno.

She's not as semi-charmed as Lauren Graham, (who, btw, is 39 in your picture. 39!!)

BOS #2 Bruce Cockburn, "Peggy's Kitchen Wall". I still want to hear the final trrack on this album one of these days, but it's nice to hear this track anyway.
-
BOS #3, an OMD track I've never heard before! "Talking Loud & Clear"

yup, that was nice.

OMG! OMD! BOS "Talking Loud & Clear". What a fine not-played-enough body of work they have.

And currently living in Twentynine Palms. (She wrote to the Voice a few months ago, angry about the paper's use of the word "squaw" in a headline.)

If I had 29 palms, my percy'd be worn down to the nub.
WOS that clip from Johnny Dangerously a forgotten movie that's forgotten for a reason.

agreed on "johnny adverb."

That was a much better trivia question today. After the Gremlins clip, he asked "what are the 3 rules for keeping one?"

post-set, KBCO is playing a new RHCP song (not the one that sounds like Petty). "Hey-oh, listen what I say-oh"??? Are they kidding? And this album is getting good reviews? WTF?

I've still got it on too, and this is extremely MOR to me, if such a thing as extreme middle is even possible, that is.
