one more example... I started checking days at random, and for some reason the other day they did a "love stinks"-style theme set; dunno what prompted that, but here it is:

one more: a 1968 set from last month:
10:02 AM Tiny Tim : Tip-Toe Through the Tulips CD:
10:03 AM The Beatles : Dear Prudence CD: The Beatles (White Album)
10:07 AM The Monkees : Daydream Believer CD: The Birds, The Bees & The Monkees

Dave often plays that Tiny Tim soundbite but he has NEVER played "Tiptoe..."

what we missed on KINK today: beats what Dave gave us, IMHO.
1987...
Prince : Sign O The Times CD:Sign 'O' The Times
U2 : In God's Country CD: The Joshua Tree
Los Lobos : La Bamba CD:"La Bamba" (Soundtrack)
The Cure : Just Like Heaven CD: Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me
Bruce Springsteen : Brilliant Disguise CD: Tunnel of Love
Sting : Fragile CD: Nothing Like The Sun
Paul Carrack : Don't Shed A Tear CD:One Good Reason
R.E.M. : The One I Love CD: Document
Fleetwood Mac : Little Lies CD:Tango in the Night
Alarm : Rain in the Summertime CD: Eye of the Hurricane
-
OK I think I figured it out:
Tuesdays are "Top Ten Tuesday", ten songs with a common word or words in the title.
But they also seem to do Theme Set Thursday as well. Here's a recent Thurs set of Questioning Songs:
Men At Work : Who Can It Be Now?
Howard Jones : What Is Love?
Where Have All The Cowboys Gone?
Three Degrees : When Will I See You Again?
The Cure : Why Can't I Be You?
Ace : How Long?
The Contours : Do You Love Me?
Bob Marley : Is This Love?
Abba : Does Your Mother Know?
Fats Domino : Ain't That a Shame?
(kudos on the ABBA)
Doing years only 3 times a week theoretically means less repetition, and they seem to do more recent years, late '90s, even early '00s.
