Ginger sez losing the Beatles but gaining the Partridge Family is not a fair trade.

But I should mention that in the stack of 45's that I got from my Dad is "I Think I Love You".

from III -- one of the maligned (by some metal-heads) "acoustic" tracks from that one. Which is probably why I like it so much.

I have holes in my Zep memory bank.  The first album was in constant play everywhere in Isla Vista at the time, but the next two were not as widely appreciated.

One of my favorites too.  Not that there are many Zep songs I don't like.

Not exactly rarities, but both "Funk 49" & "Oye Come Va" are at least VHM worthy.

And I still don't know if "Oye Como Va" translates to "Listen how it goes" or "Hey, how's it going?"

Wasn't this used in a Seinfeld ep?

VHM Van the Man.  Saw him in Central Park that summer -- The Byrds opened, and it started pouring about 15 mins into Van's set.

I was told by a native speaker of Spanish that it's the former--"listen (to) how it goes."

Hey Rod--Dickie Betts?

Belated BOS to Derek/Eric and "I Looked Away."

Geoff, I remember the Dead covering a song from this album at one of the Greek shows in the mid-80s. Can you recall if this was it, or was it Keep On Growin'? (I think Phil sang it.)

I know they did "Keep on Growin'" in the post-Jerry era, but I'll have to check my lists.

I think that second show is the one I was thinking of. See, I do still have a functioning brain cell or two.

Wish I'd heard the Neil (and I'll always be annoyed that it's not on Decade) but I'm glad I missed my least favorite Beatles song, "For You Blue."
