Leading off w/ INXS, with that old singer whoever he was.
-
it's the rolling stones! i mean, inxs!
-
It always seems to me like we've just been to '83, but it's been 5 weeks.
Just one surprise, Dave, that's all we ask.

Does Greg Kihn count as a surprise?

Yes, actually -- a breakout? Don't recall ever hearing this. Not necessarily a pleasant surprise, but it may be the only one.

Hey, are you up for some Catherine Keener this weekend? Friends with Money opens Fri.
-
I could do without hearing this Police song. Not that it's bad or anything- but I got my fill of it in '83...

i could do matinee sunday - that's about it. early, too. noon or one.

no, it really isn't a pity what a set without the police can do!

LOL! Exactly!
-
VHM Hick Hayward. But this is pretty dull so far. Won't be difficult to chooose between the repaly and a new South Park tonite -- they're gonna do some sniping at Family Guy, apparently.
-
i hate 1983. hate it! what i wouldn't give to hear some freur.
-
"Message to my Katrina", a Morey fave for far too long.
-

I read a snippet of some interview with either Parker or Stone wherein they bemoaned the fact some fan spoke fondly of SP and FG in the same sentence...
-
OK, I know it's a Davefave and we've heard it a lot. That said, I still kinda dig Message to My Girl--I'd take it over just about any CH tune. VHM.

the piano riff still sounds like, "keep feeling fascination."

so said his emminence! front! what a put-on.

just what IS an "eminence front" anyway? Is it when you get caught looking at kiddeporn and you say you were doing "research"?
-
(sigh) Yeah. I mean, I actually, y'know, LIKE 1983- but this set's rather weak.
-
just what IS an "eminence front" anyway?
Well, exactly. This is why, after many years, I have to admit Pete Townsend is a bit of a Guilty Displeasure for me in general. And that was BEFORE the kiddieporn research.

it's when his emminence is obviously frontin'!

Dave Blinded Me with Katrinas.

It's a put-on. Weren't you listening?
Actually, I asked the same question back in the eighties and my friend said, "It's a put-on". So there you go.
I still love to hear "Blinded by Science" 'cause it's a Stanford Band song. The tenor saxes had a good dance for it that I had a lot to do with creating.

You're putting us on!
-
OK, POC, who's the Judy of the week?
Btw, I just thought of another one you haven't paid homage to yet: Judy Carne, the gap-toothed Brit from Laugh-In. From what I reall (unless I'm confusing her with someone else), she fell in with a bad crowd, became a junkie, died a few years back.

That's just the front talking.

BOS TFF. Maybe Gary Jules should do a slow version of this and have another hit.
-
bos: union sundown

Ditto. A breakout?

So we can expect to see Feldon, Mandrell, Eden, and many others in coming weeks?
Oh, and BOS Dylan, from Infidels, I think.

-
Jose- some guy I've never met yet care even less about than everyone else I've never met.
OK. That was harsh- but I think you know what I'm saying.

Better not let Dave know that- he might get jealous! :D

i think we should invite him to our next club get-together.

Uh, did you all become, like, Jose pod-people while I was gone? :D
Sure, why not? He seems to hold a lot of sway over Dave- maybe we can use this to our advantage.

I always thought O RLY was the name of the airport in Paris before they changed it to Charles DeGaulle.

Gaz's avatar is a play on the joke.

I don't own that Who LP -- did they really misspell "eminence" as "emminence"?

If you find yourself with about 10-15 minutes to spare, look up "Internet memes" on Wikipedia. Treasure trove of trivialia.

speaking of trivia, did anyone note that in the wee hours of Wednesday morning the exact time & date was 01:02:03 04/05/06?
