not only is this a rerun, it's a Katriny one. Now it's Squeeze: "The little hand shakes its fist" at Dave for being so unadventurous.

That was my thought too, with the generic "Don Pardo, take us away" intro.

Lucky me, got a phone call toward the end of the Steve Miller song & missed the CH entirely. DDIO? Mean to Me? Not that it matters.

No serious BOS fodder so far, as of the Til Tuesday tune.

ETA: Oh, and a happy happy to the Princess. Sorry I missed your 'do yesterday--had friends in from the East so was shepherding them to the DeYoung and dim sum.

BOS U2, tripping thru our wires. Maybe the best of an uninspired lot if the trend continues.

My god, have we ever had such a Katrina-laden set? (I suppose the answer is 'yes' since this is a classic.)

The Kats just keep on coming.

Well I spoke too soon...  BOS REM (I generally find them *very* irritating, but I still think this is a great song)

So when did EotWAWKI go from being an obscure REM tune that got no airplay when it came out, to being their most frequently played tune?

I recall it getting LOTS of airplay when it came out.

BOS3 Julian Cope. Dave rallies in the second half!

BOS #2 Julian Cope, this is more like what I remember from 1987.  Of course back then I was listening pretty exclusively to 91X in San Diego & KROQ in LA.

U2 - Trip Through Your Wires
Pet Shop Boys - It's a Sin

Lyle Lovett - M-O-N-E-Y
REM - The End of the World (BEST OF SET!!)
Julian Cope - World Shut Your Mouth
BONUS TRACK:  Grateful Dead - Throwing Stones

Some thoughts on the replay:

Dave must have some deep associations between the music of the Finn brothers and his mournings over AIDS all those years ago.

But damn if that organ solo on "Don't Dream It's Over" didn't take a cue or three from Three Dog Night's "Out in the Country."

And it's always odd to hear "It's a Sin" on pop radio; it was the first song I can ever consciously remember realizing on first listen that it was about sexuality and further realizing that much of the listening population did not get this fact.

Let me add my belated birthday greetings as well.  It's about time you caught up to me a little bit.

And in lieu of a present, here's a pic of a Judy you haven't been yet: Judee Sill.  I know little of her music, but she looks like Nash Kato of Urge Overkill:

I'd never thought about that -- it always seemed clear that it was a gloss on Procol Harum, "Whiter Shade of Pale".
