Title: KBCO 3/8/06 - It's 1994
Post by: mshray on March 15, 2006, 08:51:26 AM
They don't mind tipping the set off at KBCO before going to commercial at 9:50.

Any doubt whether Ginger's set outshines our local product?

Rob's '94 set on Tues wasn't bad.  Here's hoping Ginger avoids Jewel.

Instead of Jewel you get Shawn Colvin covering the Police:  "Every Little Thing HE Does Is Magic".

BOS Jesus & Mary Chain.  "Sometimes Always"

Now Dave has to play a song or a band with 'Mary' in it.

ETA:  have to give Mazzy Star's Hope Sandoval the props on the guest vocal.  That's why I bought her record (after hearing this track back in the day).

I'll take Ms Colvin over Jewel any day. I have that covers album, and some of it is rather nice.

I just realized that Larry McMurtry now absolutely has to write a sequel to even Cowgirls Get The Blues, called Even Gay Cowboys Get The Blues.

And Clapton could do the soundtrack!

Actuallly that was Tom Robbins who wrote the orig.  And the movie of Cowgirls... was one of the great disasters of the '90s.

I know, but Larry M just got an Oscar for BBM, so now he has to do it.

My first time hearing that one.  Nobody in SF was playing BNLs in '94. BOS -- their "Jane" sure beats the Starship's.

BOS #4 to Petty!  I'm not his biggest fan, but there are songs of his that I truly love.

Let's get to the point.  Let's roll another joint.

I don't know how it feels to be Tom. But I'd sure like to find out, what with him being a millionaire'n'all.

TANC - I just emailed Ginger to say thanks and to ask for the ID on the 2nd movie clip only to hear her ask the audience to ID it to win Big Head Todd tix.  And it was a TV show, not a film.  Now I have to hang around through the commercials to get the answer.

ETA:  Aahhh, it was Claire Danes in My So-Called Life.
