After seeing Breakfast on Pluto, I'm jonesin' for some Nilsson.
Lovely start with lovely Rod: "Reason to Believe"
-
Good Lord, it's "Stairway to Heaven".
-
BOS Stevie, "We can Work it Out", one of the great Beatle covers.
-
Used Brates! Used Brates! I just want to sell a brate!
VHM Rare Earth.
-
Dave Edmunds, "I Hear You Knockin'". Proxy WOS for Gaz, unmitigated delight for everyone else in the world.
-
OMG! BOS2, Carly: "Anticipation".
-
BOS3, EJ, "Amoreena". This is one great set.
-
BOS4, Alice (remember Alice?), "Eighteen".
-
VHM Tina, doin' it NICE... and RUFF!
-
Rod Stewart - Reason to Believe
Led Zeppelin - Stairway to Heaven
Stevie Wonder - We Can Work it Out
Badfinger - Day After Day
Rare earth - I Just Want to Celebrate
Dave Edmunds - I Hear You Knocking
Carly Simon - Anticipation
Elton John - Amoreena
Alice Cooper - I'm 18
Ike & Tina Turner - Proud Mary

Great lookin' set. Two songs (I'll let you guess which ones) that were, at one time each, my very favorite songs in the world.

I'll guess the Zep and 'Finger.

Gaz
Got the obvious one (Stairway...).
Peter Finch type hint: The other was my favorite when I was, uh, 18.

Rod's hint was the phrase "at one time"

I just realized something tonight while listening to the replay: I never got the opportunity to enjoy "Stairway" on its own merits because it had become a cliche by the time I encountered it. What a drag.
P.S. It is perhaps even worse to know what you want at 18. Discuss.

My BOS votes. What a great *production*, more than anything else: I love and miss that fuzztone guitar sound, and Stevie's gambit of playing dueling ranges with himself on the bridge is AMAZING. Who else ever did that well besides him and Marvin?
