Another Xmas set, accenting the wacky, silly, irreverent stuff.
AL did this during her first tenure: Kid's Xmas, Festivus Friday and then the Foghead Xmas card. Then DC came in and said "one holiday set is plenty." Hope this isn't another rerun from 2009 or '10. :)
Topically speaking, it looks like we'll get Stephen Colbert.

The 2010 version, for comparison. (back when 10@10 went to eleven, and sometimes twelve...)
12/17/10- Festivus Friday!! A Slightly Different Take!

5. Brian Setzer Orchestra - Boogie Woogie Santa Claus

here's hoping we avoid that KT Tunstall "Mele Kelikemaka"...

Scrooged --> Waitresses "Xmas Wrapping". Another classic, but fairly LN for me.
-
Seinfeld "a festivus for the rest of us" ---> Stephen Colbert "Another Christmas Song"
-
Jerry Stiller on the birth of Festivus--> Colbert "Another Xmas Song" uber-BOS2. Brilliant, really. "please help the Colbert children eat"
-
Missed the first couple of songs/clips, but comparing this with the Festivus set of a couple years ago, there seems to be a fair bit of overlap, at least in the songs. However, with Christmas sets, it's tough to complain too loudly about what evolved to be Christmas evergreens.
ETA: However, I'll be very surprised if this set goes past 10, recalling that 12 song classic that got edited down to 10 songs for its replay a couple weeks ago.
-
more Seinfeld --> "How do You Spell Hanukkah?", The Lee Vees. VHM
-
Don Pardo ---> more Seinfeld ---> The LeeVees "How Do You Spell Channukkahh?"
-
Bad Santa ---> Eartha Kitt "Santa Baby"
-
Bad Santa --> "Santa Baby", Miss Eartha Kitt. Honorary holiday BOS3.

Hahaha, I LOLled.
I have "Horny Holidays" too, but since we got it when my kids were small, it hasn't gotten many spins. ;)
-
"Little Dealer Boy", Colbert & Willie Nelson. More genius. BOS5.
It's been a Colbert Festivus Festival, appropriately.
"And let not mankind bogart love..."
Cartman for the backsell!
-
Cartman "O Holy Night" (with AL giggling profusely)
-
"Sleigh Ride" during the backsell
-

OK, color me surprised. She kinda snuck Cartman in there, and so much the better.

But Cartman will probably get axed in future "classic" replays (excluding tonight's rebroadcast, of course, and this weekend's replay as well).

Per AL on FB, The Waitresses got BOS.

There is an Imperial buttload of novelty Christmas songs. Dr. Demento used to devote two shows
to them every December. My own collection of favorites runs for about two hours. So while there
are certainly many evergreens, there is no need for any overlap.
