Return of the Jedi etc etc. AL said "New Wave was all the rage" in the promo, so I'm assuming we're getting one of her patented alt-centric early-'80s thangs.
-
I've said this before, but I can't believe "Take Me Out" by Franz Ferdinand is 10 years old.

TOTHK: Duran2, "ITSISK"

Risky Business --> English Beat, ruining 3 lives with an uber-LN, "I Confess".

This is still necessary for me. I dig it, and the English Beat were one of the few groups of this period making music that I liked.

and we enter the Belly of the Whale. We're firmly in Morey-on-autopilot territory here.

The first few bars of this had me thinking this was Lindsey Buckinghams's Trouble. Wrong year for that, of course, but that was my first reaction, and then realized it wasn't that song at all. Then again, I also thought the English Beat song was Men At Work, initially. So I'm a little off today.
No BOS candidates so far. Escalator of Life is at least a rarity, but not sure if it makes the cut for BOS.
-
Hey, here's something. I don't know who's doing "Escalator of Life". Only heard this once or twice before.
-
Reagan's missile defense scheme --> War Games --> "Escalator of Life", Robert Hazard (?)

oy" WOS and uber-LN Tubes, "She's a Beauty"
-
"Totally Tubular!" --> Missing Persons "Walking with LNs"
-
BOS Sparks/Jane Weidlin, "Cool Places"

BOS Sparks/Jane Weidlin, "Cool Places"
Finally, a serious BOS contender. I was beginning to think this would be one of those sets I just abstain from entirely.
Btw, anyone else think this set has a distinct "LA" theme to it?

Trading Places --> T.Heads "Girlfriend is Better"
