Will AL do a rain-themed set? Or will she find another year of protest?
Several years ago I was thinking about a rain mix and started a list of "rain songs." Then I
stumbled across a list (on a web site? I can't remember...) with hundreds of them. There are
a lot of songs with a rain connection or reference.
-
I'd like a rain set, even one filled with predictable selections. I fear we might be getting a shamelessly self-promotional Concert 4 Kidz set tomorrow, however.

Trivia night featured 10 rain songs, including efforts by Milli Vanilli, Selena Gomez, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Eric Clapton, Alan Jackson, Counting Crows, Temptations, Phil Collins, Bruno Mars, and one other. If AL simply played that list, I think only "Let It Rain" and possibly "Rain King" have made 10@10 appearances.

Redding BOB did a wind set yesterday, which I'm guessing will lead into a rain set today. So there's that.

How did they miss Spinal Tap's "Break Like the Wind"?
-
Adele setting fire to the rain at 9:52... not sure if that's a good or bad omen for the possibilty of a rain set.
-

Point well taken. But I think it would be interesting to do a calculation of what differentiates TT from HL.

Even though the Nexus-like band of the storm has passed, the maps still show a lot of rain coming this way, so a good day to sit tight with some online friends!

BOS Steve Winwood. Sounds pretty hypocritical of me, seeing as it's mostly synth. But I think he does the best synth bass I've heard.
-
If you see a chance to play an LN, take it, sez Cumulus.
-
Frankie Smith "Double Dutch Bus"
-
2nd HAAAAY: "Double Dutch Bus". BOS4, tho' I hear it quite often on Kiss-FM. What were we just saying, re: the only rap we hear is the "cute" non-political kind? Yup. Personally, this strikes me as the sort of record that would cause the upper demos to tune out. But she's played it before so I guess it did well in BOS voting previously.
-
Bill Murray in Stripes --> OMD "Souvenir". BOS3.
This is at least the third consecutive 1981 set we've heard a clip from Stripes (although one was a classic, but it had several, including this very one).
Oooo, VHM Double Dutch Bus.
More rap light.

Cars - Euro = electric guitars and bass
I can see that. part of their charm was the way the infused some much geeky new wave with that rock and roll, powered by the PHENOMENAL Eliot Easton
-
Don Pardo asks what it means ---> Jell-O ---> Billy Idol "Dancing With Myself"
