I think Here's To Ya's 1978 prediction from the other day will come true tomorrow. But I've been wrong before.
-
More likely a late '90s set, I think... so I'll add twenty to that prediction and say 1998.
-
no clues and I haven't heard a promo, It occurs to me that we might be getting some sort of "here comes the holiday weekend" thingy. And then the "work" set for Labor day.
ETA: the Casey channel just started a March 1973 show -- the center of my "sweet spot" -- so AL will have to be doing something pretty fab to pull me away from this.
-
Late start: 10:06-ish. How many times a day do they play "Thunderclatter" anyway?
ah it's... 1978, as predicted!
TOTHK: Seger feels like a numbah. Guess I'll stick around.

Here's To Ya is correct.
-
Late start today. I figured it would begin after the Fatboy Slim tune RR ended with, but now we get another song that started at 10:04.
-
TOTHK - "weekends were made for..." (Michelob commercial) ---> Bob Seger "Feel Like A Number" - 1978

Incredible Hulk --> Broooooooooooooce, "Adam Raised a Cain". BOS1 for not being "Candy's Room"
Methinks this may be AL's "OK, I realize I haven't played enuf RAWK lately" set.
let's hope we can avoid "Thunder Island" and "Love is Like Oxygen".
-
The Incredible Hulk ---> Bruce Springsteen "Adam Raised A Cain"

And perhaps even some of that type of rawk that they call "punk"?
(Well, I can hope. :D )

car stereo commercial --> Cars, "Moving in Stereo". Heh.
-
Kraco stereo commercial ---> The Cars "Moving In Stereo"
-
our token disco/pop track: "Groove Line". Let the chair-dancing commence.
-
car stereo commercial --> Cars, "Moving in Stereo". Heh.
And just like that, new wave comes to the masses.
-
Heatwave "The Groove Line"

-
Don Pardo ---> Carly Simon "You Belong To Me"
ETA: All from the mind of AL, since she didn't take any requests this time around...
-
Don Pardo --> Carly Simon "You Belong to Me". BOS4, a nice surprise.
ETA: AL played it once before, in 2009; it appears we've never heard the Doobies version (?)
-
Don Pardo --> Carly Simon "You Belong to Me". BOS4, a nice surprise.
Been a long time for this one. Seems like Michael McDonald should be singing in the chorus.
ETA: Ahhh, there's a Doobies version. That explains what was happening in my head.
-
borderline-LN: JS, "Count On Me". But still nice.
-
Foul Play ---> Jefferson Starship "Count On Me"
-
ABC News headlines ---> more Foul Play ---> Exile "Kiss You All Over"
-
ABC News headlines --> Chevy & Goldie in FoulPlay --> Exile "Kiss You All Over". Pretty LN at this point.

I remember this song making me feel very left-out of the whole sex thing. So I'm not fond of it.
-
Stephen Bishop gets slammed in Animal House --> uber-LN "Radio radio". Pretty much anything else from this LP woulda been swell.
-
National Lampoon's Animal House (John Belushi smashes Stephen Bishop's guitar) ---> Elvis Costello "Radio Radio"

It was actually banned in some places, tho' it seems awfully harmless now.
-
WKRP In Cincinnati to close things out.

McDonald is listed as a co-writer, too, so no wonder his fingerprints are all over this one.

the Doobs did it in '77 on Takin'it to the Streets, but it was Carly who released it as a 45 in '78.
Anita Baker did a nice cover on that Elektra/Asylum aniiversary CD in the early '90s

Oooh, very interesting. Thanks for the tidbit.

Late start today. I figured it would begin after the Fatboy Slim tune RR ended with, but now we get another song that started at 10:04.
I tuned in during the Fatboy Slim song and concluded that 10@10 had already started, the year was 1999, and that my
prediction of 1998 had been vindicated.

Since 1978 is a year I know sucks, and 1999 is a year I am largely unfamiliar with, I would go with the latter, if only
to learn something. Today's set didn't disappoint, in the sense that it was almost entirely of no interest to me.

Where's that bow down/we're not worthy emoticon?
-
Per AL, Jefferson Starship got BOS.
