the year of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, sez AL's clue...
-
nearly 2 hours later, not exactly an avalanche of requests, and the most LN-y so far are Porno For Pyros "Pets" and Sting "Fields of Gold".
unlikely suggestion that AL might just surprise us with: RuPaul, "Supermodel (You Better Work)"
-
TOTHK - Tears For Fears "Break It Down Again"
-
TOTHK: TFF, breaking it down yet again. Wasn't it Dave who used to play this one in the wrong year?
-
Groundhog Day --> World Party "Is it Like Today?" Heh.

Segues like this one just make me grin like mad. (So glad our 18-month 10@10 nightmare has ended.)

and there are so many MORE of them -- RR would be lucky to have 3 clips per set.
more Groundhog Day --> Freddie Jones Band "In a Daydream", which is pretty LN as far as I'm concerned.
-
More Groundhog Day ---> Freddy Jones Band "In A Daydream"
-
Needlenose Ned! -- VHM.
Belly, "Gepetto" anything's better than "Feed the tree" for the umpteenth time.

I just realized, that this means no more Renee "classics" either. (Hopefully...)
-
Belly "Gepetto"
-
"I Wanna Be Like You", mancub -- Los Lobos, from Stay Awake.
the meaning of "mancub" sure has changed in 20 years :D
-
Los Lobos "I Wanna Be Like You"
-
Bjork still Sjucks.
-
Don't ask, don't tell ---> Bjork "Human Behaviour"
-
Duran Duran "Ordinary World"
-
BOS Duran2, "Ordinary World" -- tho' it's no bustout
-
Frasier ---> U2 "Stay (Faraway, So Close!)"
-
Frasier ---> U2
BOS2 Frasier; VHM U2. "Far Away, So close"
-
Matt Foley is one of my all-time favorite SNL skits!
-
Chris Farley SNL ---> The Breeders "Cannonball"
-
SNL, "livin' in a van down by the river" --> Breeders "Cannonball" -- uber-uber-LN/FF
-
Power Rangers --> SmashPumps?
-
Power Rangers --> ??
Smashing Pumpkins, Rocket
-
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers ---> Smashing Pumpkins "Rocket"
-
Power Rangers --> ??
Smashing Pumpkins, Rocket
certainly qualifies as a rarity if not a bustout. But I was never a big fan.

At least it's more typical of their sound than the MOR snoozers KFOG usually picks from their catalogue.
-
Whoomp! there it was.
-
Brief tease: Tag Team "Whoomp! (There It Is)"
-
Whoomp! there it was.
Would have been nice to hear the whole thing.

I was digging it. BOS contender for me, along with Duran Duran. Ordinary World is one of their best, even if it was with the truncated group.

Someone had requested both "Whoomp!..." and "Whoot!...", both of which were certainly inescapable that summer.
-

I'm good.

coulda been worse. Coulda been "Dazzey Duks".

Whoomp, shaka laka shaka laka shaka laka shaka

OK, now I'm convinced. We need to hear the whole thing. :)

Per AL on FB, Duran Duran got BOS.
-
Not a bad set, exactly, -- certainly far from the sort of DC-era LN-fests we used to get, but not spectacular either. At least AL's segues and clips can save a ho-hum set.
-
Don't ask, don't tell ---> Bjork "Human Behaviour"
You can't beat the Scandinavians for existential moodiness. BOS. This video was part of
the exhibition on robots at the SJMOA a few years ago.
-
She should have played both of the songs in full that she played clips of: Tag Team: "Whoomp (There It Is)" and The Mighty RAW: "Go Go Power Ranger" (Both of which were on Hits 106's playlist!)

Yeah. Radio segregation sucks. And I just mean genre segregation here.
