Yeah, could be either one. The first song gave me no clues, but Take Me To the River was one of those end-of-the-year hits that straddled two years.

BOS2 Talking Heads
-
VHM Dave Edmunds "Girls Talk" (proxy WOS for Gaz, natch).
Is Dave playing with us? a set of 10 '78/'79 "on the cusp" songs?
-

OK -- Iran hostages make it '79.

BOS Hey You

The Wall was most certainly 1979, as their live shows were in 80 (at least the ones in LA).
Got a phone call during Girls Talk--was there anything between that and the PF tune?

Nanette Fabray -- yes you spelled it right, but she changed the spelling to make it more accessable to common folk. But her niece, who kept the original spelling was also a big TV star in the '60s AND the '80s. Who was she? (10 points and a set of 10@10 TV trays!)
BOS3 JJ.

That guy was the late great Ernie Anderson, who worked for ABC for ages. And speaking of relatives as we were... his son is Paul Thomas Anderson, director of Boogie Nights, Magnolia and Punch-Drunk Love.
-
Bonus: Cheap Trick, "I Want You... to pick a really obvious bonus track!"
-
Speaking of The Flying Lizards- here's a blog that has posted 2 of the deeper tracks from their 1979 debut album...
