well, one of the 4 predictions comes true. 1 down, 3 to go.
Expect Broooooce, it's his birthday.
-
Barefoot Jerry - You Can't Get Off With Your Shoes On
-
I'm probably going to miss the live broadcast, so take notes!
-
TOTHK: "Born to Run". Way to go with the most obvious, uber-LN choice for the Boss' B-Day.
Holding out hope that maybe we'll close with something less well-traveled by Brooooce.
-
6 Million Dollar Man action figures --> Starship, "Fast Buck Freddie". BOS1, tho' it's no longer rare here.
-
Springsteen, Born to Run
(http://www.musicadelos70.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/Bruce-springsteen-born-to-run-single.jpg)
Welcome to seniorhood, sir. I have the feeling we're not done with this Boss.
-
Jefferson Starship, Fast Buck Freddie

-
SNL Emily Latella --> "Squeeze Box". I've always defended this one against those who consider it a HFH, but it's pretty LN at this point.
-
The Who, Squeeze Box
(http://ts1.mm.bing.net/th?id=HN.608002545749132785&pid=1.7)
DD gets a request.
-
The Eagles, Lyin' Eyes

-
more Latella on "Eagle rights" --> Eagles (oy) "Lyin' Eyes". LN3.
-

wow, that's a rather ugly 45 sleeve. Betcha they weren't happy about that one.
-
BOS2 Dylan, "Simple Twist", just for not being "Tangled Up in Blue". Something deeper woulda been even better. Boy, did I play this LP endlessly that year.
-
Bob Dylan, Simple Twist of Fate

Don Pardo "another great one"
MTM "Chuckles the Clown"
A little song, a little dance
A little seltzer down your pants..."
VHM Rufus, "Once You get Started", our soul tidbit for the day, I guess.

Rufus, Once You Get Started

good gawd: LN4 "Philly Freedom". This is turning into the Oldies 103.7 Hour.
-
The Elton John Band, Philadelphia Freedom after a rather abrupt transition from Rufus. Is this more of a '76 number?

-
10CC, Life Is a Minestrone
(http://wondersingle.up.seesaa.net/image/0-10cc-life.jpg)
-
OMFG: uber-BOS3 "Life is a Minestrone", a onetime request of mine, making only it's 2nd or 3rd appearance ever, methinks.
-

nope, early '75 -- right after "Lucy in the Sky" peaked, he released this one.

You might say it's godly, or the cream of the crop.

Maybe it's the Bicentennial vibe.
-
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest --> "No No Song". ay-yi-yi-yi indeed.
-
Mercury Cougar commercial --> "Thunder Road" -- our hunch was somewhat correct. BOS4.
-
Ringo Starr, The No-No Song
(http://media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/a8/d5/aa/a8d5aa3a1bf2743c28fd2c46110a3bef.jpg)
Anyone else remember a TV special where Ringo played himself and another character named Ognir Rrats?

Boss mach 2
Thunder Road
Oh Mary! I wonder if Wendy is jealous.

so: '86 or '83 tomorrow?
And I would've welcomed a first-day-of-autumn set, which I don't think has ever been done on any 10@10. Many summer sets, of course, and once AL did a first-of-winter one that was awesome.
Considering we heard the Two. Most. OBVIOUS. Brooooce tunes from BTR, plus a couple of other LNs... I can only give this set a middling grade. The 10cc came closest to saving the day IMHO.

Dylan's Simple Twist of Fate is technically a bust-out, as it has only appeared once in 2007 as
a Bonus Track.

that's kind of astounding, but I've learned not to be surprised by anything anymore.

That surprises me a little, too, but what Mike said.
I'm curious though: what Blood on the Tracks tunes (besides Tangled Up in Blue, natch) have made it onto 10@10? I think Idiot Wind has, and I remember Lily, Rosemary & the Jack of Hearts a year or so ago -- any others?
