I'm blanking on the name of this one-hit-wonder, but it was played endlessly on KFOG (after Alice broke it several months before) when it was a hit. One of those records that has disappeared in recent years.

Actually, no. Per numerous online sourcs, it was written by one Lieutenant F.J. Alford, a bandmaster in the Royal Marines, and published under the pseudonym of Kenneth Alford.
