Can hardly wait

Instant BOS to Son Of Rolling Stone, aka "Masterpiece." Love an ambitions Whitfield production. I forget who mimicked the Eddie Kendricks falsetto part so well.
-
I never noticed how similar the riff of "Panic in Detroit" is to that of "Spiders and Snakes." Who ever would have drawn that line of influence?

Actually I always found this one a tad overblown. But BOS "Panic in Detroit".

yeah....strange that you hear that, too!

If we heard Stafford next, I'm blaming Gaz.

BOS2 Mr Nash, "Stir It Up". Just lovely.
when you push the wood, it starts a fire, all right.
-
OMG! BOS3 Strawbs, "Lay Down".
-
"desperado" sounds quite fine right now...

BOS from me too!

"desperado" sounds quite fine right now...
I can no longer hear Desperado without thinking of Elaine from Seinfeld.

BAHAHAHAHA me too
-
woohoo! possible bos to stevie!
-
BOS4 Stevie. This is a faboo set.
-
Guilty displeasure: "Too High" has become one of my least favorites among Stevie's golden era. "She's a tangerine," huh? Um, yeh, drugs 'r bad, mm-kay.
-
Watergate Pop Quiz: Elliott Richardson wouldn't carry out the firing of Archibald Cox, and quit. His deputy, William Ruckleshaus, wouldn't carry out the firing and didn't quit, so he was fired. The clip told us Ron Ziegler was just the press secretary announcing this. But who was the 3rd guy who actually DID carry out the firing?
(Hint: it didn't hurt his career at all & he later held a very high post.)
-
BOS #2 Stevie, BOS #3 ELP.
Dude, it's inscrutable lyrics!
Do you want to be the lover of another?
Undercover you can even be the Man on the Moon.

have you heard cannonball's version? i'll email it to you, if you haven't.

No, I have not; please do!
Meanwhile, BOS2 to "Armed and EXTREMELY Dangerous," a marvy Philly production.

There's willfully obscure, and then there's total heaviosity. This is the latter
BOS5 First Choice! 10-4!

I recently got a First Choice best-of that is just fab -- you'd love it.
-
The intro to this "Eyes of the World" (?) reminded me of Style Council, "You're the Best Thing"

I hooked up with a Deadhead once to the strains of "Eyes of the World." Was nice, but just as well that it didn't work out; he shared a name with a very famous newscaster & that would have been awkward.
Meanwhile, Mark, I had to look up the answer to your question. Not surprised by the answer, but wow. "Whether ours shall be a government of laws and not of men is now for Congress and ultimately the American people."
And now, continuing the Peak thread of soundalike followups, here's "I'll Take You There Again," aka "Come Go With Me."
-
BOS # whatever to Miss Mavis! "Come on Bob Dylan and go with me"

Gaz gave another quote that maybe won't help so much. He later said things such as,
"The warning message we sent the Russians was a calculated ambiguity that would be clearly understood."
and
"That's not a lie, it's a terminological inexactitude. Also, a tactical misrepresentation."

We are the Bork! Resistance is futile. Assimilate or die.

LOL!
Actually it was Reagan's Secretary of State, Alexander - "As of now, I am in control here in the White House" - Haig.

That's funny, if you Google "fired Archibald Cox" as I did, you get a shitload of links saying it was Bork, who was Solicitor General.

Wikipedia also says it's Bork, though their own exactitude is often called into question.

And for those of you vaguely curious, here's a legal snippet (2 min) of the end of a live Eyes of the World, with a bass solo. Dreadful for most of you I presume, but what the hey! I gotta be happy they played it, even if I missed it!
