Who's this R&B tune we're hearing? I hear hints of Prince (I'm a poet that don't know it) but it sounds more like one of his production jobs than his actual purpleness. A bustout, in any case. And probably my BOS.

I queried DM on this--it was Let it Whip by the Dazz Band. Which I remember by name but damned if I could recall the song. Really sounded great in any case.
Let's get right to it.

Aaaack! "Rosanna (Arquette)".  Rock stars who write songs about their actress girlfriends: wrong, wrong, wrong.

At least Peter Gabriel didn't mention her by name when writing the Us album about his adventures in psychotherapy.
Let's get right to it.

Cleveland band with a strict Motown contract.  Which is why they broke up.  (that's one of the things you learn at the R 'n' R HOF).

"strict" meaning morally?  business-wise?  I only ask 'cause I remember how Motown suddenly dumped DeBarge, who were their hottest young act at the time.  And that was about the "morals" clause.

BOS2 Sparks, I Predict.

Btw, does anyone else think that Black Coffee in Bed would be a much stronger song if they didn't repeat the chorus fifteen times at the end of the song? Honest, that song could have been edited by a good two minutes and not lost a thing.

BOS3 Sparks!

and VHM E.T.  -- if he could've seen Drew B without her bra the other night, he'd definitely "phone home".

yes! I always wondered why it was so long -- was there a shorter single version?

Ahh.  Reasons to be cheerful, part 3.  Though that picture doesn't do too much for me.

Damn, "Town Called Malice" beats that whole set hands down. And a hundred lonely housewives clutch their milk bottle to their hearts...
