not the best way to start a week...

But "My City Was Gone" is quite a bearable kickoff.

HM: "Life During Wartime," which is probably ripe for a remake right about now.

BOS to "I Guess That's Why They Call It the Blues," a magnificent piece of songwriting that has become an emotional sledgehammer for me in recent years.  Perfectly reflective of the regret that comes with valuing the place you want to be at over the person you want to be with.

ditto on both your BOS and HM -- appropriate he plays "Stop making Sense" when Mr Demme's new concert film is in theaters.

Has Dave ever played IGTWTCITB? We know he's pretty stingy with the '80s EJ.

Hey -- some Summer Summer Summer to warm the snowbound!  This is already a superior '84 set, even if you hate the Cars.

Did everyone get dropped out mid-"Hometown"?

Yup -- I switched to Deep Tracks for a second and then switched back and it was OK. Dunno if that was an error or an attempt to inject an extra commercial into the stream.

"dogs and cats, living together!"  If only Bob had played RPJ's "Ghostbusters" instead of Mr Henley.

BOS2 and most unexpected surprise of set: JL, "Nobody Told Me."  I was so delighted when this came out.

interesting... the consensus I got at the time was: most saw it as Yoko milking her old tapes for some new $$$.

The two are not incongruous.  It was a cash-in, but a welcome one for me.
