Dean pulls out Rod Stewart's version of "Oh No Not My baby", which I haven't heard in, like, forever.  Better this than VOLUME 4 (!?!) of the Great American Syrup Book.

I just discovered the whole show today is a salute to 1984. Here's the Jacksons, "Torture".  Wow.  Wish Dave were listening!

One Way, doing their James Brown trib, "Mr Groove". This has been spectacular, one lost gem after another -- all legitimate hits, nearly none none of which has ever graced a 1984 10@10.

Didn't recognize it, but it wasn't Ghostbusters. Something from 84 I think he said.

Coulda been "Jamie"... or his "Every Breath You take" rip-off, "(I Still can't Get Over) Losin' you".

OMG! "The Men All Pause"!  Somebody slap me!

From your descriptions, that sounds like the most perfect 1984 set ever.

Could the Ray Parker Jr. track have been "Girls Are More Fun"?

Actually, that was '85. But aside from "I Want a New Ghostbuster," none of his solo work has ever been played by Dave.

I was playing "spot the vinyl" on KPOO, but then I remembered EVERY record JJ plays is off vinyl!

Trying something new today: KIXI, Seattle, a standards station. The usual Sinatra & Tony Bennett stuff, with a nice range of '60s '70s & '80s A/C. Just heard Ms Reddy's "Delta Dawn", which was a nice flashback, followed by Dionne's "Promises Promises" and -- wow -- Ray Price, "For the Good Times".

I was simultaneously crushing on both halves of that couple in 1987.

BTW Gaz, I recommend 'LNG in the evenings (EST), they're more music-intensive after 7pm, no annoying newscasts and visiting-hours-at-the funeral-home announcements.  They really do pull out some amazing stuff.

Thanks to a tip from the Great Gazoo, I'm checking out AccuRadio's new Country channel.  Mel Tillis' "Coca-Cola Cowboy", which I haven't heard since KNEW gave up country back in '98.  Followed by -- oh lordy! -- ONJ, "If You Love Me Let Me Know"!

Just caught Sweeney in a flub on the Rock Show: he said "Ohio" was a Stephen Stills-penned song--oops!
