Boston's Hitch a Ride
I don't think I've heard this a lot here.
-
Hitch a Ride
er, insert "1976" somewhere, bub. ;)
-
1976 - do we predict hearing ELO, Frampton, Blue Oyster Cult, Fleetwood Mac, KC, Stevie Wonder, Wings, Kiss, Doobies...
-
VHM, Dream Katriner
-
1976 - do we predict hearing ELO, Frampton, Blue Oyster Cult, Fleetwood Mac, KC, Stevie Wonder, Wings, Kiss, Doobies...
The first half of the above; Dave's more in a classic-rock mood today, it seems.
Nice segue into "Dream Weav-AH."
-
Dream Weaver: how close to 1975 is this?
-
1976 - do we predict hearing ELO, Frampton, Blue Oyster Cult, Fleetwood Mac, KC, Stevie Wonder, Wings, Kiss, Doobies...
LOL! That about covers it!
I could easily go a year or 2 without hearing "Dream Weaver".
-
I bet we get some Steely Dan.
What was Chicago doing in '76?

the only officially sanctioned Katrinas for 1976 are "Dreamboat Annie", "Good Company" and "Looking Out For Number 1".
-
Dream Weaver: how close to 1975 is this?
it actually WAS a late-'75 release (Bob plays it in that year). But a hit single in '76.
-
I bet we get some Steely Dan.
What was Chicago doing in '76?
Dangerously close to "If You Leave Me Now" territory.
-
I bet we get some Steely Dan.
What was Chicago doing in '76?
Chicago had a big hit then with "If You Leave Me Now"
-
I bet we get some Steely Dan.
What was Chicago doing in '76?
Watching it rain in NYC before wondering what would happen if you leave me now.
-
BOS for "Don't Touch Me There". ;D
-
Wow, wonder if Dave lurked and saw the recent mention of "Don't Touch Me There"'s writer.

Where was that? And who is it?
-
Ah. Dig. Rockin' around the Super Bowl.
-
Quick, who'll be first here to name the single & album with most weeks at #1 in 1976?
-
BOS Toobs. The smell of burning leather! TANC: co-written by Jane Dornacker!
Wonder whatever became of Re Styles, the dancer (and wife of Prairie Prince, at least at the time) who dueted with Fee on DTMT.
-
BOS, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
Definitely not a frequent flyer.

my memory has me at a Day on the Green at Oakland where Gary Wright is on the bill with the very first gig of the new (Buckingham Nicks) version of Fleetwood Mac, which I always associate with 1975

-
Quick, who'll be first here to name the single & album with most weeks at #1 in 1976?
Song: Rod Stewart, "Tonight's the Night"
Album: Stevie Wonder, SITKOL
-
BOS, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
Definitely not a frequent flyer.

-
dude! it's progrock!
WOS because that anticipatory drum beat every 4th measure really, REALLY bothers me.
-

I like this one.

If You Leave Me Now from Chicago IX?
I think Chicago IX was a greatest hits comp. IYLMN was on Chicago X.
-
dude! it's progrock!
Genesis, back when they were just pretentious!
;D

-
Ew. Who wanted to smell like Pete Rose?
-
"a man wants to smell like a man!" not a rose.
-
BOS for Charlie. Or is it Charlee?
-
Hah! Bobby Short into Pete Rose, both flogging cologne--great great juxtaposition! ;)
-
if there's a cure for the long version, i don't want it!!
-
BOS (and Biggest Surprise of Set): "Sweet Love Hangover." Would love to hear the 5D's version of this someday.
-
VHM Bobby Short on that "Charlie" commercial.
BOS2 the loooong version of LH.

Pretty cool '76 set (classic rock being my main thing), but got a 10:30 meeting. :'(
I am out.
-
Hah! Bobby Short into Pete Rose
I think Bobby would've preferred Pete Rose into him ;) Talk about a Love hangover!
-
Quick, who'll be first here to name the single & album with most weeks at #1 in 1976?
Song: Rod Stewart, "Tonight's the Night"
Album: Stevie Wonder, SITKOL
You are CORRECT. Stevie's album was #1 for 14 weeks in fall 76/winter77. Runner up was Frampton Comes Alive, 10 weeks trading #1 spot back & forth with Wings Speed of Sound (7 wks at #1).
Rod's "Tonight" #1 for 8 weeks fall 76. Runner up: Wings "Silly Love Songs" 5 wks #1, but trading off with Diana's "Love Hangover." Next at 4 wks each: Johnnie Taylor "Disco Lady" and Elton/Kiki "Don't Go Breaking Me Heart"
-
What *IS* Diana laughing about?
I have this loooong version on that fab import Motown Disco 2-CD set I got recently. Great stuff.
-
the loooooong version! if's there's a remedy I don't want it.
BOS here as well. Dave played this twice on '05 (no idea if it was the long verison), but no other Db occurrences.
-
BOS to BOZ. What can I say?
-
What can I say? BOS3 Boz!
-

-
BOS to BOZ. What can I say?

So much for Dave's classic rock mood. This set has taken a welcome turn.
-
What can I say? 3 great 70's sets from Dave last week, and another today.
-
BOS BOZ
