ah yes, thanks for the reminder!

Glorious county fair concerts are on the distant horizon...  Will we get to hear Loverboy?  Will RickSpringfield make more than one appearance?  Will BÖC grace us with their awesomeness and heaviosity?  The possibilities are endless!

Morris Day and the Time?  Squawk!  Hallelujah!
Might be time to go to the county fair.

RG here's yer Crapton
I'll complain about this song just as soon as I wake up.

Hee -- but I'll VHM "Change the World", which I've always liked -- check out the orig version by Wynonna Judd sometime.
Change the World in a good flick with Travolta. Need to go look that up.

Faulty memory. I was sure it was Winwood. This is not making me happy.

A painful Cross to bear.

The ever mellow Masquerade. Sounds good.

Finally!  Something for me!
JA
yay!  BOS5.
good one.
Guitar riff reminiscent of Volunteers Of America, no?
Very much so; written around the same time.  Nicky Hopkins on piano, I believe.
We Can Be Together was the B-side of Volunteers (I looked that up just now). I thought it WAS Volunteers and even posted a lyric from the A-Side on Facebook. Oops.
On the original liner notes, the record company made them print "Up against the wall Fred!"  This persists in many internet lyrics sites!
We are forces of chaos and anarchy!!

I found out that an old friend of mine was murdered walking in the Castro Saturday night.  He told his partner that he needed to pick up some meds at Walgreen's and never came back.  His partner got worried after a while and called around to the hospitals thinking he got hit by a car or something.  A few hours later he got a call to I.D. the body.   :'( The police have someone in custody and said that he wasn't shot or stabbed, but said it was an ongoing investigation and couldn't say much else.

He was also violently attacked 4 years ago on Valencia by a group of kids who took his watch and cell phone.  He was a sweetheart and I'm just crushed by this.  Be careful out there, kids.
Sorry. Life can be just awful.
eta...1969 and YouTube aren't making me feel so good anymore.

Funny, my initial reaction when I see we're going to a year like '69 is "Woohoo! Good set comin'!" But so many of the recent 60s and 70s sets have been LN-a-thons that I am quickly brought back to earth once I have a chance to think about it a little.

Here's hoping tomorrow's effort proves me wrong.
You will be wrong good man. I am optimistic it will a set of fabulousness. I have the Flirtations on in the background right now. Stevie Wonder up next. Comfort music. HappyCat.
