Hello, all and welcome to my first mix-tape swap! I love making mixes for people, and last year had the opportunity to participate in a mix with strangers. I receive not one, but two really great CDs from a complete stranger. I was introduced to new (to me) bands like Spearhead and reintroduced to Cree Summer and Millie Jackson.
So I decided it would be fun to try it with my friends. If you want to participate, send me (private message) your name and mailing address (snail) by November 1st. I will assign you a person for whom you must make a mix (CDs preferred, since not everyone still owns a cassette player). The mixes should be mailed by December 1st. There's no theme - you can decide what you want to put in the mix. But please refrain from Christmas songs. We will be hearing enough of those soon enough!
OK, I hope lots of people want to participate. You can forward this message to your friends, too, so we have a wider range of names and mixes. If you don't want to participate, and don't want be contacted for further mixes, let me know.
Thanks!!

We kind of did this. I have more than a few mixes from Gaz. I haven't mailed you cassettes yet but have a small stack and just need to get to the post office to find out best way to mail.
I'm in for a swap and will eml you.

Thanks! I originally sent the message to a bunch of my friends and family, and decided to post it here, too.

Sounds like fun! I can send only cassettes (sorry), but can receive CD or cassette. Perhaps participants can confirm what formats they can send and receive.

If you need to count on someone, count me in. I can send CDs but I'd actually rather not do cassette mixes (too time-consuming).

OK, no worries! Cassettes OK, too. I'll match mixes with people with appropriate technology.
