Finally!  Something I can get behind - BOS Liz Phair.  I hear her new album is jaw-droppingly bad, though - "her Self-Portrait," one critic called it.

PS: "You fuck like a volcano" = best sex line in a rock song ever.

I like Liz Phair, especially "Uncle Alvarez", and she's hot too.  But she seemed like kind of a dim bulb on a VH1 show I saw many years ago.

Agreed, But I'll only VHM 'cause I blame her for the likes of Alanis Moreupset.

from "Supernova" to "Supersonic"! BOS3 Oasis.

Wha?  She said it was "Champagne Supernova", though she kind of hesitated, perhaps realizing she hadn't played the song she meant to.  Better to play the more obscure song anyway.

indeed, Supernova into Champagne Supernova woulda made more sense, clever-segue-wise.  All in all, another '90s set that needed a bit more pop or soul and less radio-rock of the period.

BOS to Liz Phair. Yeah, it was an alt-rock heavy set, but that's what we kind of have to expect from that year. Otherwise we'd either get AAA snoozers (i.e. "Love Sneaking Up On You" or something from Eric Clapton), or HFH candidates such as "I Swear" or the Big Mountain cover of "Baby I Love Your Way" (no, I don't really think those would be played).

Next time I'll request Veruca Salt's "Seether".

Ack, I slept through this one again, but looking at the songs she played...I guess I didn't miss much. :(   A few too many repeats, although some of them I coulda VHM'd (Meat Puppets, Liz Phair, Freddy Jones Band) and others which weren't necessary (Interstate Love Song, Cornflake Girl, Parklife, Supersonic.) I have no idea whether WTF Kenneth was specifically a repeat, but REM's been played before and 98% of everything by REM sounds exactly the same.  Anyway, I'll listen this evening.

I wonder if she'll ever play Real McCoy.  Absolutely massive hit in 94-95 that never gets touched anymore, and it would have brightened the set right up.  Same with Ini Kamoze.

Is it supposed to be worse than that album that had "Why Can't I," "Extraordinary," and "HWC" on it? :-X

Am I trippin' or did AL play Supersonic the last go 'round?

you are correct, baby!  Good memory, as it's been April since we last '94-ed.

and Rad-347, I completely agree.  The lack of pop hits in '90s sets is the one tradition from the Morey era that I wish AL wasn't honoring.

You mean, the lack of pop hits besides Haddaway?  ;)
