Tuning into VIP Radio while I pitch stories.  Now playing: George Benson's greatest love of all, long before Bobby Brown found an even greater love inside of Whitney.

The greatest doody bubble of all!

I'll join you after the Bonus Track.

ETA: you missed hearing "Hungry Heart" again.

Why was "Hungry Heart" a '76 bonus track?

Meantime, Luther gets his "Papillon" on, and Alicat missed Teddy's "Don't Leave Me This Way."
“The choir of children sing their song.  They've practiced all year long.  Ding dong.  Ding dong.  Ding dong.”

Hey, a Supremes twin-spin: "Someday We'll Be Together," followed by the much-ignored "Some Things You Never Get Used To."
“The choir of children sing their song.  They've practiced all year long.  Ding dong.  Ding dong.  Ding dong.”

The Pasadenas, "Tribute", a wonderful song from '89, all about shout-outs to soul pioneers.

Hey I want to tell you a story
It’s about the groove
All Right now look hope here
Hope it makes you move
And get’s the rhythm too
Yeah oh yeah

Well there’s music from the past
Music for the young and old
Music revelation rock and roll and soul

Ref:
Right on right on
Right on (repeat)

There was Little Richard ( Tutti Fruti)
And Elvis too (shook up, shook up, shook up)
Way back in the fifties ( way back, way back, way back)
There were doing it for me and you

Well I know there is way
With music we can say
These songs are in our blood
So let them play cos it’s happening today

Ref:
Right on right on
Right on (repeat)

And we see it all so clear
The music while we are here
And we need it everyday
No doubt about it we can show the way

Talking about Sam cooke
Jackie Wilson was their names
Ever since then things ain’t been the same
(ain’t been the same)
Otis Redding God may rest his soul
Play back James Brown
How slides I don’t know
There’s Motor City that gave us the motown tunes
They laid the foundation lord
And made Detroit some thing new
Yeah we’re talking about
Marvin Gaye (What’s going on)
Little Stevie ( For once in my life)
Smokey ( Tears of a Clown)
Supremes ( Baby love)

Ref:
Right on right on
Right on (repeat)

Ike and Tina Right on right on
Aretha Franklin Right on right on
Jimmy Hendrix Right on right on
Sound of Philly The Jackson 5
All these sounds are still alive
Whoo

CG-ing today: Dean plays "Je T'aime"!  Makes the Chakachas "Jungle Fever" seem even cheezier than it is.

Well, Greg addressed my question on the show today. Looks like (from the hints he dropped) that we will indeed lose CG around April 1st.

More from Greg... He was being a bit cryptic on the air, answering my questions in code, sorta.  I emailed him to say how sad we will be to lose CG and especially his Soul Spectrum.  he replied:

"The reason I am being so coy is that this might not be the end of it, because some companies are fighting the decision and it might eventually be overturned, so Here's To The Future of Radio on the Web.

I sure am going to miss my world-Wide audience, it now feels like good neighbours have gone away.

Thanks for being with us,

Cheers
Greg"

here's Quincy J & Co, "Ai No Corrida" -- did they rip off "Dreadlock Holiday" or did 10cc steal from them?

"Ai No Corrida" was originally recorded in 1980; Q's version came in '81.  10cc came first!
