TANC: Just after I complained that we'd missed out on hearing the Chi-Lites' "Stoned Out of My Mind" on Klassic Kasem, Judge plays it as I get into the car and turn on the radio. And he's on fire today as always, with fab NTM rarities like "I Believe in Miracles" by the Jackson Sisters (no relation to MJ) and the 5th Dimension's cover of Bill Withers' "Harlem"!
-
Lawd! the Ohio Players' "Jive Turkey", followed by "Oops Upside Yo' Head"!
-
Still water run deep -- yes it do!

OMGWTFLOL-of-the-Week: 'LNG plays "Sylvia" by Focus, one of my fave instrumentals ever, and why it bombed in the US is baffling. But it was huge in the UK:

switched over to Offshore Radio in time to hear Buffy St-Marie's "Soldier Blue" (!) which was a Top Ten hit in the UK (!!) -- despite doing nothing over here.
-
Were we talking about The Herd here recently? Here they are on Offshore with "Mother's Blue-Eyed Angel". (early Frampton, yes?)
Followed by LadyCliff doing the whitest version of Ruth Brown's "Lucky Lips" evah.
-
afternoon swoons: "Sad Sweet Dreamer", followed by Scott English's "Brandy", which later became Barry M's "Mandy".
-
Find of the Week: Charles Wright, "Keep Sayin' (You Don't Love Nobody)" -- Northern Soul at its most energetic; not clear if this is the same Charles Wright from the Watts 103rd St Band. But i'm guessing it might be.

Another for the Faux-Manilow file (Fauxnilow?): "Don't Cry Out Loud", with Barry's own Sweet Melissa (Manchester) playing the part of Mr. M.
