Elliot Handler, co-founder of Mattel and the inventor of Hot Wheels toy cars, has died at 95. With the help of his wife's 1959 creation of the Barbie doll, by 1965 company sales topped $100 million and it joined the Fortune 500.  Hot Wheels, introduced in 1968, featured custom designs and eye-catching paint jobs and became a #1-selling toy brand. Today, Mattel is still the world's largest toy maker.
