Post by: mshray on January 11, 2010, 10:01:56 AM
BOS INXS!  "Don't Change" is a Db bustout, one I've been asking for for years.

BOS INXS!

Did you also wonder if she was alluding to Timbuk 3 with the mention of "hairstyles and attitudes"?

BOS INXS!

alluding to, yes, but hinting at, no.  Timbuk 3 was 1986.

BOS #2 Scorpions!  Kraut rock rules!

ETA: and bustout #2 as well!  The Db has "Rock You Like A Hurricane" and "Winds Of Change" once each, and that's it.

Any other German tunes that could fit in this set? 99 Luftballons? Der Kommisar? (Nah, I think those are '83.) Or maybe Schock Den Affen, the german version of Shock the Monkey.

*At leaast that's how they tried to spin it. Was also interpreted as criticism of the British invasion of the Falklands.

How many times have y'all heard me begging for Dave to play "Genius of Love"?

I'll answer my own question:  at least 8 times, which is how many times Dave played the version of Ziggy Marley's "Tumblin' Down" with the extensive sampling of this tune, and as you may recall, the one time I called to ask him about it Dave a) didn't know that the Marley was a remix and b) claimed not to have the Tom Tom Club song available.
