BOS INXS! "Don't Change" is a Db bustout, one I've been asking for for years.
-
BOS INXS!
Did you also wonder if she was alluding to Timbuk 3 with the mention of "hairstyles and attitudes"?
-
BOS INXS!
is this a bustout/rarity? I don't recall hearing it much. BOS from me too.
-

alluding to, yes, but hinting at, no. Timbuk 3 was 1986.
-
BOS #2 Scorpions! Kraut rock rules!
ETA: and bustout #2 as well! The Db has "Rock You Like A Hurricane" and "Winds Of Change" once each, and that's it.
-
BOS: Dio!!!!
-
BOS #2 Scorpions! Kraut rock rules!
Ja, wohl!
-
HM to "No One Likes You" (as my brother and I called it at the time).
-
BOS: Dio!!!!
Funny, sounds like the Scorpions now. :) I was already for "Rainbow in the Dark" with that guitar intro! That's alright, I'll take this song, too.
-
DUUUUUUDE! Scorps!! Teutonic pseudo-metal at its finest. </sarcasm>
-
BOS: Dio!!!!
oops, these guys are a bit... taller. ;)
ETA: of course I thought it was "...Hurricane" at first.
-
BOS #2 Scorpions! Kraut rock rules!
Ja, wohl!
Try singing "Rock You Like a Hurricane" to this chorus. They've got a song and they're sticking with it!
-
BOS: Dio!!!!
Funny, sounds like the Scorpions now. :)
Nice save. I was about to have your EU passport revoked! ;) :D
-
BOS2 "Da da da"! The Germans are taking over! VHM Debra Winger.
-
Kraut rock rules!
Ja, wohl!
More Kraut rock! BOS #3 Trio, and I bet the fact that it's tune #3 is no coincidence.
-
Speaking of German, BOS for the extremely silly Trio tune.
-
BOS: Dio!!!!

Whew! But you can sing "Rainbow in the Dark" just as well as "Rock You Like a Hurricane" over that chorus. :)
-
Nice segue, from Officer and a Gentleman into I Don't Love You You Don't Love Me...
Except now we gotta listen to this turkey.
-
Kraut rock rules!
Ja, wohl!
More Kraut rock! BOS #3 Trio, and I bet the fact that it's tune #3 is no coincidence.
Any other German tunes that could fit in this set? 99 Luftballons? Der Kommisar? (Nah, I think those are '83.) Or maybe Schock Den Affen, the german version of Shock the Monkey.
-
BOS3 Madness!
-
This ska-ish tune about a House of Fun is new to me. Oingo Boingo?
Spoiler: It appears Van Halen's "Pretty Woman" cover is on deck.
-
BOS3 Madness!
Ahhh, shoulda known. I can hear it now.
-
Six Daves in a leaky Moreytrina!
-
Not even a bustout, but I'll BOS it anyway: Enz' Six Months In a Leaky Boat, Tim Finn's ode to the early settlers of New Zealand.* Everybody whistle!
*At leaast that's how they tried to spin it. Was also interpreted as criticism of the British invasion of the Falklands.
-
And now we go from a UK #1 (Madness) to a song banned by the BBC (Split Enz).
-

Not to mention Bootsy and Smokey.
-
so where's VH? I'd've preferred that to "Freeze-Frame", actually.
-
How many times have y'all heard me begging for Dave to play "Genius of Love"?
I'll answer my own question: at least 8 times, which is how many times Dave played the version of Ziggy Marley's "Tumblin' Down" with the extensive sampling of this tune, and as you may recall, the one time I called to ask him about it Dave a) didn't know that the Marley was a remix and b) claimed not to have the Tom Tom Club song available.
-
BOS to "Freeze Frame," one of the most danceable songs of their ouevre. Great backing vox arrangement too, tweedle-eedle-eet.
-

Which sounds a lot like "Goody Two Shoes". :)
-

Player still sez it's on deck. Or maybe AL called an audible?
-

It and "Rosanna" are still showing as "Upcoming" in my popout player.
-
INXS, Scorps & now J. Geils are really taking me back to room 902 in Tinglestad Hall at Pacific Lutheran University, sophomore year.
-

VHM for me, just because it isn't "Centerfold."
BOS, Tom Tom Club.

Here ya go. Must say, that patented riff sounds pretty good filtered through Eddie's pile of echoplexes.

ah here we go. guess I have to VHM VH now. We've entered the mainstream AOR portion of the set.
-
time to practice using the DHM for Halen.
not quite a WOS because DLR's leering actually kind of works.

It's OK. You can say it. "Yacht Rock."
-
is Toto yacht rock?
Absolutely yes. But in this case, they're also stale popcorn.
-
is Toto yacht rock?
Is Jeff Porcaro dead?
-
is Toto yacht rock?
Me, too, all the way.
Is that what they're saying? I've always sung, "Meet you all the way." Which doesn't make much sense.
-

Is Jeff Porcaro dead?
Yes.
-
Don't know how many of you caught up with this during the holidays, but you absolutely have to watch it at the 1:58 mark. It is Toto-centric & hilarious.

indeed! BOS-whatever from me. A nice job by AL, in a year that could go either way during the Morey era.
-
TTSVA!
I get it!

I must say I've been genuinely impressed by her sets!
-
Yay for me! I phoned in my BOS vote for Tom Tom Club at 10:37, and Annalisa said, "Alright! That puts it over the top."
-

That was great!
-
and in what is now falling into the category of so-bad-it's-almost-funny, the set is immediately followed by "21 Guns" yet again.
-
BOS for More Than This, VHM Rosanna, & WOS Freeze Frame.
