Title: KBCO, 10/5/07: 1988

"Tumblin' Down" is a Katrina when Dave plays it, but then he *always* plays the Genius of Love remix, and claims not to be aware of the existence of this original version that Ginger obviously *is* aware of.

So VHM from me just because.

"Valley Road" is about the point where Hornsby lost me, where his style started feeling like shtick.

Same for me, except it was definitely after this song, which I still like, not least because of the sensitive subject matter.

"Put on some music
Robert Cray's real nice"

Did he write this in the hope Michelob Dark would use it in a commercial?

Sting's cover of LW is one cover too many, methinks.

I'll give another BOS to the Smithereens, even if they're not appreciated much by the rest of the group.

Oh my yes.  and of course "Englishman in NY" is a personal fave -- I actually saw Quentin Crisp walking around Manhattan around that time.

As I've said before I loved them in the beginning, but after seeing them live in '89 or '90 I realized, hearing them one after another, how similar their songs were.  Still have affection for 'em, tho'.

Well, I don't miss the commercials, but maybe lack of ads means less money for prizes.
