I'm hoping for 1968, which is overdue, but mostly I wanted to lead off with the following offer:
I will shortly have backed up just about all of Urth's archived sets, and will be sending out a spreadsheet with all the info. I now have DVD burning capability, so I can put quite a few sets on one data disc. Anybody who wants anything will have but to ask.

Thanks, bub! You are a prince among men.

I'm getting BUPKISS from the KFOG stream, in either incarnation.

...but I ran out to the car & Sam & Dave were singing "I Thank You", so my prediction seems to have come true!
-
If I listen in the car I wont be able to post obviously, but I think I'm gonna.

BOS Revolution
-
"probably THE hottest group, um, ever". LOL!
-
BOS Revolution
Ditto from me (with multiple exclamation points). Probably my favorite song of all time to play REALLY LOUD...
-
Guess I better do a play by play:
Sam & Dave were the TOTHK, followed by the Crazy World of Arthur Brown, and now we've got the Beatles (yay!) Revolution.
Dave's been playing some between song clips of a Vietnam era USO DJ playing songs for the troops in 'Nam. She's obviously reading off a script.
BOS2 (after CWOAB), Max Frost & The Troopers. Shape of Things to Come!!
ETA: Ah, I see you guys finally got your streams going. Whew!
-
WooHoo! Max Frost & the Troopahs! BOS one of the great one-offs of all time, and one of the best songs about "revolution" this side of, well, "Revolution". And it was written by Mann & Weill!
-
"nobody has TASTE like friskies
nobody has FLAVOR like friskies..."
sorry, ma. i had to do it.
-

I don't really remember hearing this song in '68, but pretty much only in a 10@10 context. Was it really a hit, and not just a noteworthy song from a silly movie?
-
Heaven is in Your Mind!
Studio albums
Mr. Fantasy (first U.S. pressing issued with title Heaven Is In Your Mind) – 1967 US #8

A Top 20 single in Billboard, got a decent amount of airplay in NYC and on CKLW Detroit (which is where Dave heard it, no doubt).

BOS2 from me -- if this isn't a bustout it's surely a rarity.

who was that with her realistic fears and abnormalities?

Coretta, no?

I probably just wasn't listening to AM radio at the time.
-
yesterday was mick's bday! he's been around for a long, long year.
-
ooo, Dave goes dark -- MLK and RFK shootings followed by "Sympathy for the Devil".
-
who was that with her realistic fears and abnormalities?
Coretta, no?
ahh...that would make sense.
-

Maybe Cate Blanchett can play him in a movie next

i think unjolie would be better suited.
-
When Mick vamps, "What's ma NAME?" at the coda, I want to yell, "Goo Goo Barabajagal!"
BOS to "Fire" in the meantime, even though I missed it. Was out running errands.
BTW, I'm leaving tonight for a trip to Pittsburgh. Mom's moving, kind of a big adjustment for her. So I'll be off the grid until Thursday or Friday. Have a great weekend, all!
-
Peace Frog next?
ETA: Well, got the band rignt; missed the song.

-
BAY-BAY! heah ah RAM! and heah am BOS3! OTIS!

I'm leaving tonight for a trip to Pittsburgh. Mom's moving, kind of a big adjustment for her.
My mom's moving to Fresno; pretty big move here too! Good luck to you.
-
ok, really it's a ten-way. i can't quit her!! woohoo!
-
BOS4 BS&T. Fab. Yoo. LUSS.
-
Sorry, but WOS to Otis: I just don't think he sang the song all that well.
VHM to "I Can't Quit Her." Whenever I hear this, I think of a former Schwab colleague, a somewhat-functional junkie who regaled me with tales of hanging out in GG Park with Jorma Kaukonen; she made me a mix with this and a bunch of Electric Flag tunes almost 10 years ago.

Did he say "tune number 10" twice? How many were there really?
-
Does Big Rick no longer replay the BOS at 5:55? 'cause we've had a lot of ties lately, which (what a coincidence) hadn't happened in a long time.

Yeah, for the longest time they wouldn't let him join in on any twisting games.

my lasting image of them in this concert is Al Kooper playing lead guitar on "I Love You More Than You'll Ever Know."

Archie Bell & The Drells "Tighten Up" is the bonus
-
Bonus track is Tighten Up, Archie Bell and the Drells. Renee picked it herself--but somehow I have trouble picturing her dancing as good as she wants!

Just looked at this more closely, it actually says *The* Cream.
Say what?

Some folks had a harder transition from the '50s to the '60s than others
I had an aunt who used to put "the" in front of everything. If she'd lived here she'd have shopped at The Safeway and The Walgreens and The Albertson's... and listened to The KFOG.

I just read the recent Rolling Stone which is a 40 year tribute to Summer of Love. There is mention of "The Cream." It is a good issue. I learned a lot.

I heard this driving home from Office Depot. So, as I'm putting together my new office chair, every screw had a theme song!
I'm very comfy now in my new chair.
-
every screw had a theme song.
They say Ravel's "Bolero" is the best for that.

Those two sets do nothing for me. I don't like 60's or early 70's music too much. I guess being way too young for these sets make it uninteresting for me.

Anyway to get a spreadsheet to me?

Dave didn't do his fans any favors this morning by playing his two best sets first. Up third will be 1980.

I think there's an idea somewhere that us old folks get up early, while the "kids" who dig late '80s/early '90s sets are just regaining consciousness around 10:30. But since he saved Jim'n'Tammyfest for last, I can now tune away after having heard 4 good sets.

Unless there are some copyright issues I'm not aware of, why don't we just post the file in the home page?
