Was any SF station playing Guided by Voices at the time?

Maybe KUSF. I was totally gobsmacked to see that on 10@10. Almost makes the set worthwhile.

Here's another extremely unlikely place that GBV popped up recently. (It's only about a minute or two in, you don't have to watch the whole 45 minutes.)

03/29/12 - Thursday! Across The Universe to 2001 !

 1. Weezer - Island in the Sun
 2. Cake - Love You Madly
(Movie: "A Beautiful Mind" - Nash (Russell Crowe) wants Alicia (Jennifer Connelly)
 3. Coldplay - Shiver
 4. Eddie Vedder - You've Got to Hide Your Love Away
(News: Diane Sawyer reporting - First reports of an explosion at the World Trade Center in New York City...)
 5. Enya - Only Time
 6. Rufus Wainwright  - Across the Universe (B.O.S!)
 7. Ryan Adams - New York, New York
(TV: SNL - Drunk Girl (Jeff Richards) - "I hate you, Jimmy Fallon - I hate you, I love you, I hate you....")
 8. Johnny A. - Oh Yeah
(Movie: "Shrek" - Lord Farquaad (John Lithgow) interrogates The Gingerbread Man, "Run, Run Run as fast as you can... Do you know the Muffin Man?)
 9. Guided By Voices - Chasing Heather Crazy
10. Sugar Ray - When It's Over

Listened to the set last night. Not too shabby. Songs 2 and 3 are not the most obvious selections from their respective albums, I don't have the same repulsion for Vedder that Rad has, "Island In The Sun" is always welcome, Enya and Ryan Adams are obvious timepieces, while songs 5 and 9 are certainly infrequent fliers. Say what you will about Sugar Ray, but I've never minded them. Really only Johnny A is a reminder that yes, KFOG would get enamored with certain artists nobody else did, even way back in 2001.

Dunno, but I hear Biden is really getting off on Vampire On Titus.
