Plymouth Volare into Stills/Young Band, Long May You Run

Re the Plymouth: Wishful thinking. But a nice segue.
Let's get right to it.

And the hits just keep on coming!

Jonathan Richman & the Modern Lovers, Roadrunner  (still under consideration as the Massachusetts state official rock song).
Let's get right to it.

I was going to guess that Roadrunner was the end of the set, but guess not.

Another killer segue:  Walter Matthau and Tatum O'Neal in Bad News Bears into Runways, Cherry Bomb.
Let's get right to it.

Excellent set today.  I'm going with Roadrunner as my BOS, though I could have gone lots of ways.

Somehow we missed Graham Parker's Heat Treatment, between the Petty and Flo & Eddie tunes. Mike got his request, and wasn't here to hear it, as he predicted.
Let's get right to it.

I heard it but didn't know what it was called, so remained mum.

Same here.  I had it as "sweet dreamer" until I heard AL's backsell.  Just fixed it.

'tis the way of the world.  But I'll catch up tonite; sounds like a good one and I *adore* the Flo & Eddie tune -- the last time she played it, I was on vacay in NYC.

So, through 9 sets in AL's second era:

3 Good-to-Outstanding sets from the 1970's
1 Fairly Decent Theme Set
2 Relatively Weak 80's sets
2 Very Weak 90's sets
1 Rather Weak 00 set.

Pattern?

'twas ever thus, at least once DC came in. (Well, OK her '80s sets then were better than that, and she did '86 and '87 the past 2 weeks, and they tend to be lackluster.) We'll see how much New Wave from the "record cellar" she gives us when she does '82 or '83. By the progression above, her first '60s set outghta be phenomenal  ;)

It's the Curse of the KFOG format from late '80's on. I wonder if any powers-that-be at the station (besides Constantine in his heyday) put pressure on the DJ to be so format-friendly, or if the DJ is playing to perceived audience expectations, or, heaven forfend, that's the s**t she actually likes best.

I didn't listen to today's show, but the set list is wicked awesome.
