Hour 2: BOS4 and proxy of shray, Gerry Rafferty, gettin' it right. BOS5 Ian Gomm, holdin' on.

BOS6 the Knack, "Apple Scruffs Don't". And it HURTS!  And speaking of pain: WOS Journey. Lovin', Barfin', Heavin'.

BOS7 KC's sweet "Please Don't Go"; BOS8 "Tusk". WOS2 "Dirty White Boy" -- did they orig intend to call it "White Trash Boy"? That woulda made more sense, no?  Did the record company balk?

Hour 3 begins with a BOS9 for Bonnie Pointer's fab reworking of "Heaven Musta Sent You".

1985 Hour 1 begins with a VHM for Tina's *other* Mad Max hit.

BOS1 OMD!

The Power of Huey's HUGE, er, love would certainly keep *me* home at nite.

WOS1 Phil Collins and Marilyn what-was-her-name-again. OMG -- I never knew Stephen Bishop wrote that one. Sheesh.

Corey Hart is the boy in Gaz's box. Do tell!

Woo Hoo! BOS2 "Who's Zoomin' Who?" I'm rhymin' fo' you, boo!

I probably haven't heard Power Station's "Communication" since '85.

WOS2 Heart; VHM David Foster's adult-contmpo instrumental theme from St Elmo's Fire just because it sounds so out-of-place.

BOS3 the Pointers' fab and underrated "Dare Me". Knock it OFF!

Hour 2: Olay your hands!

Freddie "I'm fatter and gayer than Luther Vandross" Jackson says "You Are My Lady". No, YOU be the lady -- I was the lady last time!

Always a VHM for "And We Danced"; always a BOS(4) to the unfairly maligned "We Built This City"

Do I uber-BOS5 ABC, "Be Near Me"? I do! oo! oo!

Jeezus, Cafferty's big Brown Beaver has been inescapable the past few weeks. WOS3. And WOS4 Bryan Adams.

Sentimental BOS6: Hall & Oates & Kendricks & Ruffin. WOS5 Night Ranger -- they had entirely too many hits for such a crappy band.

VHM Paul Young.

Yikes! 3 Phil Collins songs (2 chart hits and an LDD) in one show is 3 too many.

WOS6 Loverboy, "Lovin' Every Minute of It" -- hated every second of it. But damned if both Def Leppard and Roxette cribbed from this one.

BOS7 Wham! -- "Freedom" remains my fave 45 of theirs.

WTF? they posted the wrong chart on the AT40 geek board. it's actually Oct 27th's show.

http://www.charismusicgroup.com/Cue%20Sheets/10-27-73.pdf

Charlie Rich (attn ALICAT!) and Conway Twitty are back-to-back here at the top.

BOS1 Johnnie Taylor (the natch'l wailer!), "Cheepah to Keepah"

Ike's nuts + Tina's bush = "Nutbush"! BOS2.

Love the weird chart action on the Ohio Players forgotten "Ecstasy". VHM the J-5, gettin' it togethah.

Joe Walsh provides Steve Miller with something to rip off 4 years hence.

More proxy-of-Alicat action: "The Love I Lost".

The preachah and the teachah! Lawd! they a etc.

BOS3 Miss Rubina Flake's lovely, forgotten cover of Janis Ian's "Jesse". BOS4 Kool/Gang's "Funky Stuff" Can't git enuf!

Seals & Crofts *swear* they're not trying to get anyone to worship hummingbirds, or something.

VHM Edgar Winter.

Cool Canuck Extra: the 5 Man Electrical Band's "I'm a Stranger Here".

uber-BOS5 Millie Jackson's fab "Hurts So Good"

Ringo takes a snapshot.

Hour 3: great gawsh-a-mighty, it's a BOS8 for the Pointers.

Dylan knocks on heaven's door; Garfunkel knocks on the door of the Top Ten with the preternaturally beautiful "All I Know" -- BOS9.

LOL: Casey calls the DeFrancos "one of the hottest family acts in the business today" -- based on one hit?? And if you close your eyes, it's hard to tell the diff between Tony DeFranco and Marie Osmond -- well except that she's on-key. VHM "Paper Roses"

Mah-vin gets it on; Eddie K trucks; the Allmans ramble.

VHM Eddie Vedder Rob Thomas Cher

Your presence (dear) is missed!

Ms Benatar gets hit.  BOS1 the Stones, in an arctic zone lookin' for some burnin' bush, heh. VHM Anne Murray's lovely Urban Cowboy contribution.

WOS1 the Cars, flying like a semen cement kite.

I barely remembered Ms. Summer's "Walk Away", an attempt by Casablanca to squeeze some juice out of their vaults even tho' Donna had moved on to Geffen. Surely they could've found a more interesting single.

VHMs to Leo Sayer's forgotten "More Than I Can Say" and the '80s version of Pure Prairie League, with a voung Vince Gill on lead vox. "I'm Almost Ready" would not have been out-of-place on the first Eagles LP.

Hour 2: BOS2 Stacey Lattisaw; WOS2 Charlie Daniels. ooo, it may be wooly/ them swamps they do get wooly.

Agreement with sg: BOS3 Irene Cara's beautiful "Out Here on My Own", co-written by Miss Lesley Gore.

I didn't know that: Larsen & Feiten, here with "Who'll Be the Fool", played behind Rickie Lee Jones on her debut LP.

BOS4 the Jacksons' "Lovely One"; BOS5 H&O's underrated remake of "...Lovin' Feelin'"

VHMs to Al Stewart and Willie Nelson.

Supertramp's live "Dreamer": one of the least-necessary singles ever.

Hour 3: BOS6 "Lookin' For Love".

Casey wishes Dame Cliff a happy 40th B-day -- never reveal a queen's age on the radio!

Stevie's watching the foolish Master-Blaster detectives in love.

Haaaaay! Miss Ross comes out, showin' the world all her 'bilities. VHM.

uber-BOS7 Boz's gorgeous "Look What You've Done to Me"

Call the Lawyers: I've noted before that Robbie Dupree's "Hot Rod Hearts" was ripped off by Rick Springfield 2 years later for "Don't Talk To Strangers"... but then Dupree is just ripping off the Doobs anyway.

"Give Me The Night" still sounds like something MJ turned down.

TANC: yesterday we heard Ms Flack doing "Jesse" (a Janis Ian song); today Carly does "Jesse" (diff song same title).

BOS8 Stephanie Mills.

1970 Hour 1: instant BOS1 to Stevie's "Heaven Help Us All", easily one of my 4 or 5 favorite singles of his. Stunning lyric.

Wow, I didn't remember that Dionne W had a version of Bacharach/David's "Make it Easy on Yourself" that actually hit the Top 40, much less that it was a live recording! VHMFRA.

I think this is only the 2nd time I've ever heard "Do What You Wanna Do" by 5 Flights Up (not to be confused with 3 Doors Down). Nice, if fairly generic Delfonics-style soul.

BOS2 the Tremeloes Christie. If the river's yellow, better not drink, dude. VHM CCR.

One of the more improbable comebacks in history: '60s teen idol Brian Hyland (from Woodhaven, Queens!) records an incredibly white version of a Curtis Mayfield classic and outdoes the original, chart-wise.

BOS3 Ms Murray's "Snowbird". VHM the Tempts forgotten "Unite The Ball of the World's Confusion", followed by Rare Earth covering "I'm Losing You".

Lucy you just so damn BAAAAAAADD!!! BOS4/proxy of cairo BS&T.

Crosby, Stills, Nash, Young 2 cats and some chick. Hope it's a big house.

VHM Bobby Bloom by the bay.

ooo! the Raiders' "Kicks" is a welcome extra.

Hour 2 begins with Smokey, the only guy who can rhyme "public" with "subject" and get away with it.

LAWD! BOS5 Miss Candi Staten Island's fab cover of "Stand By Yo' Man". She fierce!  Soul twin-spin: BOS6 the Wicked Pickett, revvin' his "Engine". Good gawd a-mighty!

Oh my! BOS7 Freda Payne's unjustly forgotten "Deeper & Deeper"

this is a gobsmacklingly great chart. BOS8 Bobby Sherman's "Julie Do Ya Love Me". Great horns.

another forgotten 45: Teegarden & Van Winkle, "God Love Rock & Roll", basically ripping off "Amen". Fun fact: they co-produced Bob Seger's Smokin' O.P.'s album!

BOS9 3DN in the country. Paul Williams is God.

JB got soul. And he's "Super Bad". And he's BOS10.

Zho Co-KAIR cries a river; S&G would rather be a forest. VHM "El Condor Pasa"

The Partridges have the highest debut at #17. Wha think ah love yew! Harpsichord solo!

Miss Ross over-emotes to spectacular effect.

Look what the New Seekers have done to Ms Safka's song, Ma.

Hour 3: BOS11, 100 Proof; BOS12 Watts 103rd. That's a lot of numbers.

"walk with me..." VHM the Tops in deep water.

I'm always fascinated by songs that made the Top Ten despite getting zero airplay in NYC, and Glen Campbell's remake of "Make Believe" is one of those.

Damn, I haven't had a WOS so far! Of course, I didn't really need to hear "Lola" today. Or ever again. "a lotta different girls.. a lotta different lifestyles" sez Casey -- ROTFL!

Always a BOS(13!) for "Candida", as lovely a Brill Building hommage as ever there was.

Give yourself up, R Dean Taylor! You are surrounded!

VHM:
