Most puzzling of set: the Supes' "Floy Joy."  Is that supposed to be a guy's name?

It's a nickname -- because he gives women such joy.

Floy Joy!

That's your name.
Your real name may be Smith or Jones
But not your claim to fame.

Oh, it's Joy-Boy!
Any girl who knew you at all
Would have to call you Floy Joy

Two versions of "I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing" was two too many.

Ditto having to hear GFR's "Footstompn' Music", which I heard on the Sound's 10@10 last nite.

BOS Cher's fantabulous "Way of Love" -- a 2-1/2 minute masterpiece.

Bread's "Everything I Own" reminds me what a sledgehammery chart this is: this week in Feb '72, my mom was in the hospital. It was also the week John & Yoko co-hosted the Mike Douglas Show. I remember rushing to the hospital after school to visit my mom, and then rushing home in time to see J&Y.

VHM the BeeGees' "My World". Not their best lyric, but oh those harmonies.

VHM Wilson Pickett, covering a Free song, "Fire & Water", that never crossed the pond in its orig version.

BOS2 Beverly Bremers' wonderful Lesley Gore hommage.

and another VHM for Charley Pride -- ah, the days when country crossover really meant something.

More VHMs: "You Are Everything", the Stylistics first major pop hit; Joe Simon's "Drowning in a Sea of Love", and Dennis Coffey's "Scorpio"

Meanwhile, Rod's reading his Power Point again.

BOS3 "Sweet Seasons" -- what a fine forgotten underrated LP Music is -- Gaz, have you ever heard "Brother, Brother", Carole's answer song to What's Goin' On?

WOS Robert John, one of the most worthless, unnecessary remakes in the history of remakes.

BOS4 "Clean-Up Woman", and VHM Little Beaver's seminal guitar part on it.

It just seems more a Flo-Jo thing:

Yep, and it's a good one, but it was improved a year later when the Isleys covered it for their Brother, Brother, Brother album.

Not the first time it's happened, either.  Got to hear Casey sing that Peggy Lee song again, tho'.

About to switch over to the '80s version via that Canadian station.  The high temp today is -4!

Our Canadian friends don't seem to be running Casey today. Switched to West Virginia in time for Mr Nevil's "C'est La 'Trina".  WOS Chico DeBarge, ripping off Janet Jackson and paving the way for Jody Watley to do the same.

ETA: the Canuck station runs games from their local minor-league hockey team, the Peterborough Petes -- no Casey next week either.

WOS2 Glass Tiger's "Someday"; WOS3 Bruce Willis massacre-ing the Staples. I never knew (or else I forgot) that was the Pointers on backing vox. Sheesh.
