NTM: Bobby Vee at his most Gene Pitney-ish with "Sharing You", a forgotten Goffin/King comp.

also NTM: The Tokens with a very sunshine-poppy "I Hear Trumpets Blow", a mid-sized hit in '66. Gaz'd like this one.

and for the 2nd time this week, Shaun Cassidy's "Da Doo Ron Ron" -- it really is one of the more worthless cover verions ever, but he followed it with 2 Eric Carmen covers that IMHO weren't half bad, esp "Hey Deanie".

Treat of the Day: PP&M's "Leavin' on a Jet Plane", which I hadn't heard in a dog's age.

currently listening to CBS-FM; their hourly "Hall of fame" feature today is "First and Last Hits". This hour it was Johnny Rivers, "Memphis" ('64?) and "Slow Dancin'" ('77).

Out to lunch (Tibetan Kitchen, yummy momos)

I looked at their website -- momos look like either dumplings or steamed buns. Or neither. What's in 'em?

Pre-CGSS, we're getting Phunky Phil trying to be Princely in the Stu-stu-studio.

Momos have either veggies and chives or ground meat, and are served either steamed or fried.  Alas, the kitch was closed, so my friend Dan and I had Chinese instead.  I am absurdly spoiled with access in my new nabe.

Mmmmm... ground meat....  Sounds yummy. I had to settle for a tuna sandwich. Out The Door (a less-pricey offshoot of Slanted Door) in the new mall downtown sells some rather tasty steamed chicken buns, so I can only imagine.

FIIIII-YUH!

Is that the sound of someone being murdered in the next room? (or was that on "Love Rollycoaster"?)

Ha!  One of my favorite urban legends.

Who's loving Dolly here?

believe-it-or-not, that was the Moments, a UK-only hit in 1975!
