beej and gazoo's lovechild lives in new orleans. his name is russ ballard, nay, broussard, and he's a drummer. he looks like gazoo from the left, and gaz from the right. he is married to susan cowsill, the youngest daughter, and she's a nice lady. she helps her husband load his gear after his gigs. now is that, is that love?

Well I'm doing it now. I'm rediscovering Soul Searchin'. I bought this album years ago, and I have no idea why. Maybe it was during my Nanci Griffith initiation. I pull it out every year or so...man! It sounds so good every time. I must put Rodney on my concert watch list. It seems to me this is what Jackson Browne would sound like were he not so........New Mexico?
I'm looking California and feeling Minnesota.
Perhaps that's my problem with Jackson Browne and most of those Eagles songs - they just straddle the line between Texas rockabilly/country/Americana and Midwest corn rock like a dustbunny you can't tell from Saltine.

so, friday, sometime in between after-work drinks with alicat and before i turned into the reason some people don't go out at night, i went to martuni's on market. first time. swell, swell piano bar. when we arrived, mr. houston was singing "all that jazz," and you know i just associate this song with vitamin c. how delightful it was! so what did he follow with? some jackson browne song. at least it wasn't jackson singing...
