Title: 1973 on 1/28/05
Post by: RGMike on January 28, 2005, 07:45:47 AM
In a betting mood?  Which song (if any) from Dave's '73 set on Wed do you think Bob will play today?

Who - Love, Reign O'er Me
Ann Peebles - I Can't Stand the Rain
J. Geils Band - Give it to Me
Led Zeppelin - The Song Remains the Same
Gladys Knight & the Pips - Midnight Train to Georgia
Strawbs - Lay Down
Steely Dan - My Old School
King Harvest - Dancing in the Moonlight
Buckingham & Nicks - Crystal
Chicago - Just Me & You

I've got a hunch about Gladys...

Like Dave (who started '73 with 2 "rain" songs), Bob begins with "Long Train Running" and "Love Train". Can my prediction of "Midnight Train to Georgia" be far behind?

I'll go with "Just Me & You."  Playin' the odds for a windy city station.

"rain" and "train" make '73 sets less plain...

best couplet of set:

"Performing on a stool
We've a sight to make you drool
Seven virgins and a mule
Keep it cool. Keep it cool."

Ah, timeless poetry.

Sing it Mr. Tyler.  I remember a live appearance in the late 80's where they did this.  I swear to god it looked like he was going to explode hitting some of those notes.
