thanks, guys! i began the day in bucharest, partied until 7am with some lawyers, then caught the train to the black sea. the food is great! think i'll head to bulgaria on saturday. we'll see...
trying to listen to 10@10, but i can't figure out how to work the sound on this computer. free internet in the hotel, though. sweet!

1885 - Gottlieb Daimler receives a patent for the 'Daimler-Benz' engine
1917 - Lenin arrives in St. Petersberg, Russia, on the infamous 'sealed train' from Switzerland ("From Lake Geneva to the Finland Station")
1948 - Truman signs Marshall Plan
1953 - First issue of TV Guide published
1964 - The Beatles occupy spots 1-5 on the Hot 100 music chart (and something like every 6th song of the total list)
1968 - MLK Jr. delivers "I've Been To The Mountaintop" speech (and is assassinated less than 24 hrs after saying "I might not get there with you.")
1973 - First portable cell phone call takes place in NY City.
