Title: 3 September 2008: Takes us to 1976
Post by: Alicat on September 02, 2008, 09:35:46 PM
I think Dave said 76. Crossing my fingers. Hard to whittle it down to just 10.
Wish list:
Something from Frampton, don't think Dave would dig too deep.
Something from KC
Bee Gees (dare to play something other than You Should Be Dancin?)
Fernando
Boogie Fever
December 1963
Devil Woman
Don't Take me Alive
Dream (Katrina) Weaver
Jailbreak
Love Hangover
Love Rolly-coaster
Magic Man
Rubberband Man
Silver Springs
Wild Mountain Honey

Dave will probably close with Leon Russell.

The election year string continues. Seems to me DM did this around the conventions in 04 as well.

indeed -- I'd say either '92 or '96 are sure bets for tomorrow. (Leaving at least the possibility of '68 on Fri)

I'm with you Rod.

I remember in the summer of '76 I worked on my uncle's farm & he had a 20-something hired hand named Gary who had a '72 Camaro with a souped up 8-track deck.  My older cousin Rob got to ride shotgun, so I was always cramped up in the tiny backseat, but listening to Boston, especially Foreplay, at full volume made it worthwhile.

I'm prety sure that was a deliberate segue from Ronnie into this, I know Dave has the same book as me on the Reagan years called The Clothes Have No Emperor.

a single, but not a Top 40 hit. Goes great with Alice Cooper's "Department of Youth" -- I did that segue many times back in the day.

I think he already had a song called "Always" in his catalogue.  Jodeci later covered it for a Top 10 hit, IIRC.
