some Paul Revere, perhaps?

Kind of a drag if you don't like the Buckinghams. But the beginning of quite a career for James William Guercio.
BOS Kinks!
-
BOS2 Neil Diamond. Is there a more chilling couplet than "Me & Sue/That died too"?

I'm still amazed no one's done a rap version.
-
Speaking of macho lyrics, WOS to "Little Girl," which I'm not sure if it's a Dylan mimic or a Standells mimic.

Hey Gaz, how are you feeling today? I've been a tad worried about ya.
-
VHM Donovan, whose "Catch The Wind" is being used in yet another car commercial.
KFOG played "Paperback Writer" at 6am... I didn't really need to hear it again.

Ulcer's dissipated a bit, though weight loss has continued. Thanks for asking.
?s on Paul Revere: Who did the wordless AHH-AH thing first, them or Boyce & Hart's "I Wonder WHat She's Doing Tonight"? And were they at the time considered cool or kiddie?

Here ya go!
BOS3 "that's my way of gettin' what I want! 'Cause I'm HUNGRY!"
BOS4 Beach Boys

"Wouldn't It Be Nice": one of those songs that could not be credibly remade today b/c societal mores have just changed too much.
OOH, and a co-BOS (along with "Hungry") to the Temptin' Temptations, easily one of the Funk Brothers' best workouts.

"I Wonder..." was '68 so PR&TR get the prize. I love that sort of thing, like the Grassroots' "Live For Today" cribbing the "sha-la-la-la-la-la" from the Drifters "I Count the Tears".
I recall PR&TR being thought of as kinda teenybopper, not as "serious" rock. I think it was the costumes. Tho' Little Steven venerates them as garage-rock icons. Hindsight is 20/20...

How short was the set? I just heard the end of Tull, now Broooce.

Very short, Ali -- less than 35 mins. Short songs in '66.

I think they were considered pop and teeny at the time, regardless of talent level.
