LN-whatevah Icehouse.  This may be the most LN-centric set since the recent "renaissance" began.  Odd, since Renee is Little Miss Eighties. Unless the PD is feeding her these setlists after all.

The Hiatt tune was last played Dec. 27.

The Carrack tune last appeared Feb. 8.

Mellencamp & Los Lobos songs were last played Mar. 22.

Icehouse appeared in the last '87 set (Apr. 29).

U2 (songs from The Joshua Tree) has appeared in every '87 set in the Renee era.

Ditto Grateful Dead (songs from In The Dark), save for one time (Dec. 27).

It's no wonder the '87 sets sound similar.

ETA: Did Renee sound less enthusiastic today? I missed the beginning, but she sure sounded sluggish on the backsell today.

Yeah, it was a step back from her recent enthusiasm -- another reason why i (at first) suspected it might be a rerun.

The only thing missing was Crowded House.

Not my favorite GD song, but far from my least, too. I do appreciate a good "fuck you" song now and again. And once in a while they'd uncork a live version that just *ripped.*  VHM.

I agree with your assessment.  It's certainly not the worst GD song *cough*Alabama Getaway*cough*,
and with the Dead the concert performances are more important than what they put down
on vinyl.

jeezus, LN3 Hiatt in the meantime. I swear RR played this in our last '87 visit.
Looking thru the 87 sets of the last year or so, I didn't spot the Hiatt (I was rushing so could have missed it) but I did notice a pattern of GD songs off of In the Dark. West LA, Touch of Gray, Throwin' Stones.

Memphis in the Meantime appeared once in 2010 and twice in 2012.  BOS from me -- Hiatt at his
best.

Sure I like country music
And I like mandolins
But right now I need a telecaster through a vibro-lux turned up to ten...

True, sometimes when they weren't having a good day (Boreal Ridge) they could really sink their teeth into this one, and channel that pissed-off energy.  I was also around for part of the filming of the video for this song.  Lots of animals on set!
Don't stand in the way of LOVE!
